Munira Mirza the PM's policy chief has quit her job after Boris Johnson refused to apologise after claiming Kier Starmer had failed to prosecute Jimmy Savile while he was in charge of the CPS. The claims are rife on Hard Core Right Wing websites and is used as a stick to beat the Leader of the Opposition. Even the Chancellor of the Exchequer agrees Johnson should never have said it but when asked should the PM apologise he said that was for Mr. Johnson to decide.

Johnson repeated the claims during Wednesdays PM's questions in the House of Commons but today backtracked saying he didn't hold Starmer personally responsible.

The PM has the morals of a sewer rat, trying to smear his opponent by claiming he allowed one of the countries worst ****philes to avoid prosecution.

It is playground politics with Johnson, throw as many lies at the problem as he can and hope that some stick, the problem is compounded when people believe the lies

To suggest someone is complicit in protecting a rapist and *****phile is disgusting ...

... for our PM to say it, in order to make someone appear as corrupt as himself, is horrendous.

To then lie in the House, and pretend everyone misunderstood, is treating us like idiots, again.

I know people backed Johnson for his character, and will find it difficult to turn against him, but even his own colleagues and staff are doing it.

Only the despicable Truss and Mogg are still licking his arse

How is he allowed to get away with saying that in the HOC and not face a slander case or even get a bollocking from the speaker for it?

Apparently he was advised not to do it but did it anyway. He’s scum and even his allies now see it. Gove has also backed him by the way.

It’s an outrage man. They probably think maintaining the wealth of their donor base is a big shout. All about power, not about people.

It’s corruption, pure and simple. Whilst I am happy that it is damaging them and has finally gained some traction, I find it frustrating that it’s taken party gate to get people outraged.

It’s obviously disgraceful but it’s relatively minor compared to all the things that the majority and the media turned a blind eye to. The death rates, the vote not to help feed impoverished children, the PPE scandals, the corruption, the lying, the pork barrel politics, the cronyism, the attacks on our democracy, the dismantling of our judiciary and other great institutions, the destruction of our international reputation, the mismanagement of our economy, the dog’s dinner they’ve made of Brexit, I really could go on for paragraphs.

They have flooded the zone with ****, we’re a borderline banana republic.

Parliamentary privilege allows him to. He will not repeat the lie outside of Parliament because even he is not that stupid.

Ah right, just thought it strange when I watched it that no one jumped in and gave him a bollocking.

So with that privilege mps can say what they want in the HOC?

You can tell lies but you can’t call another MP a liar. So basically if Starmer had responded by calling him out as a liar he would have been punished. Our House of Commons rules are crazy at times.

I actually think the rules work tbh mate.

Anyone telling lies will be caught out as there are endless people checking and recording what's said. The PM made a fool of himself and was quickly called out so he actually hurt himself rather than his intended victim.

I also don't believe they should be allowed to call each other liars or every session would go on past midnight <laugh>

In a way the false allegation has been a useful thing. It shows Johnson up as the power hungry disrespectful liar he is and even many of his own close colleagues are saying enough’s enough. Only the cabinet members who also enjoy their bit of power are backing him.

Jacob Rees Mogg backs him to the hilt. Of course he does. Which other Tory leader would have him in their cabinet?
