The set up of only needing a "head coach", who prepares the team and works with the players, but doesn't have to deal with the contracts, medical stuff, academy etc? Because I've heard Keane talk about how that's all he's interested in. Most recently in his brilliant interview with Neville last year. It's absolute nonsense to say he wouldn't "suit the system". The "system" only requires someone who can motivate and work with the players, and manage the team.
Highly rated in the City Group? Oh well that's it then. If the City Group (names?) rate him highly what could possibly go wrong? He plays good football? In the Sunday afternoon Aussie league for 17 games?
As in the group run by the Man City owners. As I said I gave you a nutshell. Gan use Google if you want more info. And on the 17 games ****. If they think he's the ideal fit as a coach I don't care it its his first job. Let's see what happens.
Keane comes in and the players run through brick walls from now till the end of the season and we get promoted. He takes a young (Kisnorbo) assistant manager on to groom for next season and beyond If carlsberg did appointments
He plays the same style we play. We have based our player profiles along the same lines that the City Football Group (Man City, Melbourne City, New York City, Troyes) etc have. He is highly rated by Erick Mombaerts who is a very respected coach himself and senior within the CFG hierarchy headed by Brian Marwood. He'd be an excellent left field candidate. And I'm glad we are considering people like him (if we are)
He's been in charge for 37 games as far as I can see. Wiki says 17 and we all know how accurate that is.
Good for you mate. For my part, if we appoint someone with a sum total of 17 games in a league that makes the SPL look like the Champions League, then I'll be furious. It would be an absolutely ludicrous thing to do. Astonishingly brainless.
He won the double last year playing good football from what I understand. Not going to pretend to be an expert on him - but I completely agree that he "fits" the profile of everything KLD and Speakman themselves have been about. Both KLD and Speakman themselves were unproven left field candidates that none of us had heard of until they were linked. So was Ross Stewart. So was Xhemajli. A tonne of calculated risks are being made on players and staff that have the ability and need somewhere to show it. And the head coach could take a similar path. That's why the Australian fella "fits". And that's before you consider that he's very highly thought of by some very knowledgable people, AND plays the game in the way our transfers and squad building have been geared towards. Or we could just dismiss him because he's from cricket land.
He's done more than that. You're getting boring. I don't even necessarily want him as manager. But post after post dismissing him when you've not even looked at it beyond Wikipedia is tedious.
Don’t want MON anywhere near our club again!! Don’t you remember the dire football he dishes up. IMO he was the worst ever appointment at SAFC after MacManyMoney!! FFS my skin is crawling at the thought!! Bart
Its a super team of McCarthy, Keane, O'Neill, Sbragia, Coleman, Poyet, Di Canio & Grayson coming in to manage us.
For some reason I’m getting a message on my laptop that I am banned from this forum (my IP address is at least). But my iPad seems to be working. So if I am circumventing a ban - apologies. I’d love to know why though
