3 or 4 years ago now I think. Last few jobs were as Martin O'Neil's assistant. With a spell helping out at Aston Villa Think we should move on but if he did come in would be interesting to see the coaching team around him
Think he could save our season personally. A word used to describe Defoe springs to mind - elite. We could potentially have a manager and a vastly experienced striker with an elite mindset. Cant be a bad thing when we want to achieve promotion in the next 17 games can it? I think Keane will have matured and mellowed since last being with us he will know not everyone can be him on the pitch in the same way Defoe knows it. Between them both they may just instil a bit of additional confidence and guile in the squad though. This appointment is to a large extent a roll of the dice. We will still need others around us to trip up and no matter who we bring into the role, they may not hit the ground running and there may be a few bumps in the road as he gets to grips with an adopted squad of players. I would be happy with Keane but then again I would be happy with others too. Keane would certainly have the fans from the outset however and maybe that is as important as who he is given the circumstances. Johnson wasn't universally liked from day one and his streaky reputation preceded him. Maybe a manager who can bring us all together is the best option at the moment rather than a complete unknown quantity who wont please everyone. We can be the 12th man we just need to believe that and believe in those brought in.
Im not sure this is what we need right now.. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...x-Black-Cats-defender-Danny-Higginbotham.html
perhaps any offer would contingent upon him accepting and working with the current set up and personnel let the coaches coach let him inspire would be the only way he would fit in and it would only be short term. He is the only one of the 'older' crowd that i could consider tbh. No one would lift the place like he would
Haha no idea what happened but yeah me and the boys get so excited going to games this season. Haven't said that for years
The owners have had a plan from day one and I don't think they will throw it away. So if it is Keane I would trust them to build in some kind of structure around him to keep things moving forward. I wouldn't really want him mainly because I think we should look forward and wouldn't want him to fail. Few twists and turns before an appointment I think But he would certainly give the place a boost.
Look you ****wit, if you can't see the progress the club as a whole has made you need to take your head out of the sand and actually look properly. I'm not even going to state the changes since other posters have already mentioned what has occurred a number of times and you've chosen to ignore them just to keep regurgitating your usual bullshit.
A lot of good points but the one I was thinking is that as you say he'll have matured and learned from his mistakes last time. He's an intelligent bloke and I don't see him going at it like a bull in a china shop. No doubt he'd be aware going in that it's not what we're looking for.
he’s said himself on reflection he was pushing himself and his players too hard at that time because he felt they should have achieved more. In hindsight he realises that staying up was a good achievement and he should have been happy with it
he seems a bit more zen these days........just gotta hope he doesnt grow a beard he always seemed to be a bit more radgy with the long beard
Yeah he's really mellowed over the years hasnt he . Here's another example years later of his man management skills.. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ma...l-news/roy-keane-man-united-spat-22947609.amp
agree with all of that.......I want the appointment to be a random bloke ive never heard of who has been successful wherever and buys completely into the clubs methods and approach ........But yeah its Keano man
I thought he and Short were at loggerheads cos he had not moved his family to the NE? Ie p/t manager?
Strap yourself in people..we just might be going on another Magic Carpet Ride to the Premiership. Please God.
