OH MY GOODNESS! IT'S THE RETURN OF RTM. Some call it #7. It's not a long number, but it is a Long number. Which means we're going all the way. We've taken the cup on a date, and now we're cuddling up, ready to take off her ribbons. It's Saints Vs Coventry We're back to gameplay, after a quite frantic transfer window, where after months of tight negotiations, we finally managed to secure our number one target on a permanent deal. Welcome aboard Will Armitage. It's been a buzz this last week, with the much needed winter break weekend meaning that the Premier League has a bonkers fixture pile-up coming, and Newcastle were finally able to recover from "14 years of having someone spend up to £100m in a transfer window". The pain was real. Nobody else could possibly understand that level of pain. Hawankers. Still, on we go, and it's Coventry. So, what do we know? Traditionally Coventry is a place one gets banished to, and where nobody speaks. So basically it's J-Rod's dream club. Famous fans include Eddie Jordan, who is a prick. And Richard Keys. Yep, that one. It's a little known fact that Richard Keys' hands were used for the man-to-panther transformation scenes in much under-appreciated 80s series, Manimal. Coventry are, of course, also famous for playing in sky blue - a colour that gets Oriol all pinchy. We have also recently seen pictures in training of the return of Tino Livramento, our rampaging right back. It's probably too early to see him this weekend in fairness, so I'd expect a variation of our full PL team, Covid etc permitting. Joyce Kilmer once wrote a poem about Coventry. She called it 'Trees' but that's just her shorthand for Coventrees. (Coven)Trees by Joyce Kilmer I think that I shall never see A game against this Coventry. Coventry whose hungry gegenpress, Against Oriol's sweet flowing breast; Coventry that fears Le God at play, And lifts Lyanco's charms to pray; Coventry, that may in summer wear I do love Stuart Armstrong's hair; Upon whose bosom Bro and Che; Who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, But only Le God can beat Coventry. (If you were looking for content on the film Coven, please can we refer you here - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6844138/)

I'm taking my mum and three daughters to this - their first game. I'm hoping it matches up to my first ever game at The Dell - a 4-0 defeat of Leicester in the snow with a hat-trick from a teenage Le Tiss. My mum and I don't have a great record at St Mary's though I'm afraid - our last visit was the 0-5 defeat to Arsenal in the cup a few years ago. Before that, it was a 0-3 home defeat to West Brom when both Danny Fox and Gaston were sent off. In fact, I'm struggling to remember the last goal I saw.
A pre match bet is going against the normal procedure isn't it? Doesn't that power normally take hold when we get our early goal.
ffs 6-3, I was quite looking forward to it until I read this. Don't think I'll bother now. *If the last goal you saw was the 4-0 against Leicester it was 1987.
Ha! No, there have been a few since then, I promise. The 4-0 win FA Cup win against Spurs the year we got to the final is probably my next favourite game. I was at a 6-3 win too (but not THAT one).
I walked past the Dell, yesterday, and the pitch is ready for you and your family to enjoy a football feast. Ignore the “No ball games” sign up on the wall, that is there to lull the opponent into a false sense of security. If anyone tells you that you are trespassing and that we now play at “somewhere else”, pretend you didn’t hear them. Just don’t turn up at “somewhere else” in case you bring the bad luck with you. Other than that, enjoy the game.
Yes I do, for the wrong reasons. I have told this tale before, but in a nutshell, I took my wife to London for a weekend of tourism and watching a couple of shows. Got back to the hotel room, caught the end of the news to hear about “2 hat tricks in the game at the Dell” followed by the score. I still enjoyed the weekend I was there for the 5-5.
So when was the last goal you saw and the last win? Don't take this as an interrogation, I'm just interested.
I’m going with 2 of my sons. Haven’t been for a while owing to restrictions and the fact I’m not keen on the cold. Does anyone know if there will be any likely delays getting into the ground such as vaccine checks?
