Hopefully. I don't want to sound like I'm being negative, because I think the club have done some very good business this window, but as I said earlier, I don't think we've addressed all of the gaps in the squad. To some extent though, you're always going to be chasing the perfectly balanced squad so its not really a criticism of the club.
Has anybody seen Matete play? I cant say ive ever heard of him, has he played many games for Fleetwood this season? I was hoping we could sign a CM capable of walking straight into our starting 11. Looking at his stats he looks like someone weve bought for the future, or am i wrong?
I've only seen the videos I found of him late last night. He's been in Grimsby's and Fleetwood's first team, so could probably come in to ours. He looks strong and fast and looks like he can pass. Dynamic. Its only highlight reel but looks promising.
Based on data points (I know, I know), he's one of the best performing defensive midfielders in the league this season. So he's got a great chance of going straight in.
I agree. Batth, Metete, Defoe all good additions but we need some good fortune with Stewart and Broadhead.
Koscielny would do, but I am being daft I know. We have a very young lad in Zach Johnson who last time I watched the u23s looked very good. Would be a massive ask of course. As others have said O'Nien would be a good choice if needs must and hopefully he isnt too far away.
As someone else said Matete looks very much like a Kante type player. Loves the defensive side of the game but doesn't lose his head when breaking forward. Seems like the ball sticks to him so he'll be a good player to have on the pitch for those games when we cannot keep hold of the ball for love nor money. Exciting signing.
