We’re apparently not paying anything until he’s played 20 games, then £10m becomes due. Given there’s only 18 games left that won’t be this season. He’d have had to have been fantastic to trigger the clauses, in which case we’ll happily pay them.
Am I right in saying that Lingard could buy himself out of the remainder of his contract? If he wanted the move that badly and he’s genuinely gutted and has resigned himself to bench duty (at best) at Man Utd then surely he would just do it and make the move…wouldn’t have to be done before the window shuts either.
