Dembele's name is starting to pick up momentum, albeit with sources that could charitably be called Tier 4...
Looks like Dembele will be this evening's traditional late flourish that comes to nothing. Can't say I'm bothered tbh. Another player who doesn't address any of the obvious weak points in the team, has a horrible injury record and would walk in as one of our highest earners even if Barca subsidise his wages for the remainder of the season.
Had a zoom call with my 4yr old grand daughter tonight , she went to bed with her favourite spurs shirt on and Dele on the back, If he's half as good as Ossie that will do for me
Early start for me tomorrow but like a fool I will refreshing my phone every 10 min until midnight incase Parrotici' pulls a VDV out the bag
Wouldn't be surprised to see loans for the following announced Jamie Bowden Marcel Lavinier Malachi ***an-Walcott
According to WindyCOYS the stuff about us pulling the plug on the Ollie Tanner deal because of his tweets wasn't true, instead he's simply waiting for an offer from Brighton He's hardly alone in that, either
Tbh, if I was advising a young player I would tell them to stay the hell away from spurs. Our record since 2017 of playing young players has been abysmal
Yep, if everything is agreed they can put in an intent sheet and extend the deadline by an hour (or often more).
Romano says everything’s done. I’m sad he’s going and I can’t quite say why, it’s a weird feeling to feel nostalgic about a player who still has so much football ahead of him. Ultimately the injuries, a period of poor attitude, and coaches changing and just not having a place for him have stalled his Spurs career to the point where he has to go. Even though he finally got back into really good shape over the summer, Nuno didn’t know what to do with him and Conte doesn’t want him. I can’t help but feel that a lot of this is of his own making though. If he applied himself more then he might have been able to adapt better. The player you see now is not the snappy, direct, aggressive player who joined us. Injuries for sure may have dented some of the movement but I just haven’t seen the attitude from him on the pitch for a while, apart from the brief few matches under Nuno where he was running his socks off, even if it was a bit ineffectual. Jose was largely a malaise at Spurs but he got some things right. Alli was one of them. And even if he goes on to have a good career, I think the regret will be there about how it’s tailed off at Spurs. Thanks for the memories Dele. He emptied the Shed, that lob against Arsenal, the magnificent goal against Palace. It’s just a shame it didn’t end sooner for us, as it turns out.
There’s valid reason to feel disappointment and a sense of sadness he’s going so you’re not alone, even if there’s also a sense of relief now too. He’s been abysmal for quite some time but he has also produced some unbelievable stuff and memories for us. That Palace goal you speak of I was right in line for at Selhurst, it’s something I’ll never forget and having the privilege of seeing it live was special and we can all list tons of other goals/ assists/ moments he’s given us. I think he was/ is the perfect example of a system’s player. With the perfect personnel around him in the right formation he can be unplayable but Dele himself is someone that I don’t think can be brilliant by his own doing, not like Kane, Son, Eriksen, Dembele are/ were. Hopefully Lampard’s system and personnel can get more out of him but it was never really going to happen for him again here I don’t think and it’s good for him he’s going to a good club, even if they’re in a bit of rut. Cheers for the many good times, a shame there wasn’t a lot more.
