Manchester United seriously need to ask themselves, what could they have done differently before yesterday or today, whenever those images were released, because from what I'm hearing they knew long before this. This is a sport where players are role models, covered by big sponsorship, broadcast and marketed around the world. What was done, was all too little, too late, from what I'm seeing.

I think every club in the country has someone like Greenwood in the dressing room but move mountains to prevent it coming out. I don’t for one second believe Man Utd had no knowledge of his behaviour. There’s rumours circulating that police were involved in 2020 due to an incident between Greenwood and his partner but Man Utd did everything to brush it under the carpet.

Romain Molina’s exposé of some of the shady **** that goes on in football behind the scenes is shocking.

This is so high profile that a line has to be drawn in the sand.

Every schoolboy in the land knows all about this and how they act/behave as adults will hugely influenced by what happens to Mason Greenwood.

I call you right, because the law of averages would no doubt suggest if explored, that domestic violence must occur within x percentage of footballers.

Unfortunately my gut tells me this is absolutely true.

The thought of someone like that representing my club and worse still the club covering **** up for them makes me feel fukin sick.

Not just footballers either. UN did a recent study about sexual harassment in the UK. 97% of 18-24-year-old women polled said they were on the receiving end of sexual harassment and/or assault. 96% of that 97% said they didn’t report it to authorities.

It’s one of those things that as a bloke, you don’t really have a reference point for. I take for granted that when I walk to the shops when it’s dark outside, I don’t feel threatened or on edge, but I know the women in my life are constantly vigilant if they have to do the same because they’ve told me.

And you’re right, by law of averages, every club will have a Greenwood, maybe even more than one.

Same, mate. I look at the group of lads who play for the club I support and think on the face of it, they all seem like nice lads. And that’s the most terrifying thing because you really don’t know what people are capable of unless you really know them.

Obviously the reason clubs want to cover it up is that the players are assets.

Greenwood, if sold, would demand 30 or 40 million at least. Now this is out and Man Utd will be pressured to sack him. That's a huge asset lost to the club. That's why these kids think they can do what they want. The "do you know who I am" culture.

The whole business is ****ed from top to bottom.

If he has done it, I hope they lock him away for years.

Sorry, but what evidence is there that United have tried to cover this up?

On the face of the audio recordings, it appears Greenwood raped his girlfriend.

Are you seriously suggesting United have tried to conceal this?

There’s no evidence United were aware and/or were complicit in concealing it but it just reminds me of when Weinstein was exposed as a fiend and every **** in Hollywood who worked with him for years came out of the woodwork and said they were all shocked and appalled by the allegations.

Like I said, every club probably has a Greenwood and every club has probably tried to conceal the bad behaviour of their players at one point. It probably happened in Fergie’s day as well. You can’t tell me Giggs only became an abusive piece of **** after he retired from playing. Nobody’s picking on Man United, but I find it highly unlikely they weren’t aware of Greenwood’s behaviour towards his partner on some level.

This is a problem in football and society at large, not just Man Utd.

Modern world thinking. Perhaps there's not a lot of people like that in the league and perhaps Man Utd knew **** all about his behaviour. Trial by social media is the in thing though.

    ****ing idiots on here mate.
They are suggesting that every employer knows exactly what their employees do in their private lives all the time.
If this were the case there would never be any rapists, murderers, bank robbers or terrorist bombers (unless their employers kept it quiet like <whistle>)
    ****ing idiots.
