Your right it is...but doesn't mean people can't complain about their license fee being wasted on poor commentary when there's so much better available locally with more recent and stronger links to our club. There was a absolutely no justifiable reason swanny should be there. Burnsy I can see the reason, but swanny ... No
The local media back in the stadium is a big thing to me. How it was thought otherwise is beyond my thinking and certainly beyond Acun,s. All feels so good so let’s hope we don’t blow it today. Nah it’s a win for me.
great to hear umberside is back- you either love them or hate them but you cant please everyone. Im just glad they are back and hope my elderly dad will be able to reconnect with his lifelong love of city- he's recently been diagnosed with dementia and cannot attend in person like he did . Meanwhile silly sod me who now lives in bloody carlisle still won't be able to listen to umberside!!! oh well
City on FM. Bleeding sub-mariners on freeview. PS. If some of you think Burns is crap, don't listen to other local stations. Radio Shottingham is a forest fan club.
I’m not bothered about who commentates. It reconnects people to the club who can’t get to games for whatever reason. That’s more important than who is doing the commentary, that’s the point I was making.
No complaints on the the clubs TV commentary, but I do miss being able to go to ifollow (tigers TV) at 2 pm and it would be Humberside coverage through til 6. And, purely as an audio commentator Burnsy is technically a lot better than Fletch. It's ridiculously **** that you go to ifollow to 2 mins before the game and half the time it doesn't work. And it's also **** the complete silence for 15 mins at half time. Can we not get build up and phone in and half-time coverage back on ifollow please? Oh, and make sure it works when it should and not be opposition commentary either....?
Would have thought Fletch is a better audio commentator as he actually describes the play-by-play, with Burnsy better for the colour commentary when you don't need every play described. But glad those that benefit from it are able to enjoy it now.
A great day all around, very good performance, the atmosphere was superb, 3 points and a clean sheet, what's not to like? I was very impressed with Shota and his involvement in the whole game reminded me a bit like Conte on the touchline. He certainly had the whole team playing further up the pitch, which in the first half pressurised Swansea and they couldn't get to grips with it. They did better in the 2nd half, and we started to get a bit deep, but managed to see the half out unscathed. Fleming was excellent, KLP and Honeyman instrumental in all things good about the performance. The back 3 solid again, and Smallwood has really proved me wrong, he certainly can handle the Championship, and had another very good game. Baxter, even though not that busy, made one or two really good important saves. Well, after a whirlwind week, great to see many stay away back, the first game under Shota couldn't have done much better. I thought his post-match comments were interesting, when asked what he thought of KLP performance, he said he needs and can get better, much better. KLP can learn a lot from this guy, as long as he sticks around.
Each to their own, but I find Fletch's commentaries painfully bad. The result that I believe would please the largest amount of fans, would be to have Burnsy, but with Swanny replaced by Meyler.
He minces his words sometimes, but at least describes the play, which I guess is what I was getting at as the difference between an audio and visual commentator. Agree on Meyler.
I think it's to do with licensing arrangements between EFL and the clubs. It's commercial/legal stuff not technical.
