my gut tells me nothing will happen in terms of announcements now until Monday. We may get more leaks and rumours today, but doubt anything is finalised until Monday (both in or out). And I think on Monday we will have two permanent incomings, one permanent outgoing and one loan outgoing. Just an opinion of course rather than any intel.
Good news. Only concern is those two don’t offer physicality. Need a CM that’s essential to counter teams that bully us.
Not sure about that mind. I think one O’Nien’s biggest assets is his ability to get around the pitch and get stuck in.
You've got to wonder if O'Brien moving is the key to us bring another striker in. I bet we've had offers for him but not at the price we want yet.
He’s 5,11 mate. I am talking about a powerful tall midfielder. Who’s to say O’Nein’s shoulder might not become an issue again.
Madness to think there loaded beyond belief. But it was always going to happen to them. They always get what they want.
Read what I've written again mate....you are missing my points thoughout. I’m not interested in what you conceive to be major factors to represent all players at a certain playing levels mate. I’m talking about a coach/manager’s perspective. Training program criteria is designed to ensure that players are fit to play, and to prevent injuries or further injuries etc. SAFC are to be trusted mate…..if they do sign Defoe, please get behind the Club and Defoe……if not, you will be one of the very few who will say – “I told you so” I’m only replying to you mate because I think your points are way off. Note: All pro’s and top amateurs selection and playing time has always been governed by their respective managers and coaches, based on monitored and recorded evidence to support why, when, and how long that player is given match time…..and that’s a fact. Please read my last post again to save me going into it all again.....
Doesn’t matter what happens as long as we have a striker in by Monday otherwise we have no cover and an injury away from another year in league one
I think we've made an offer (I'm sure Prehab mentioned this last week) and we've left it open whilst we pursue other targets who are more 'first-choice' than a 'nice to have'. Then once the window closes or Defoe decides to accept that offer we'll conclude the deal as a 'nice to have' rather than the necessity. Just hoping we got the preferred target over the line before Monday. Defoe maybe not happy with our offer but also not keen on any other offers he's had so not jumping into anything too soon as he'll know, if we don't get anyone else in before the deadline then suddenly he has greater bargaining power as we're going to be pretty desparate in case anything happens to Stewart. Just a poker game really.
Exactly ,this part of his game was massively hampered by his shoulder . Players were targeting his shoulder and he was holding it before he hit the ground if he went over. He will be a different proposition when he comes back with that off his mind ,in my opinion.
He also said it was a young centre back from Crewe, then said he was wrong and it was a midfielder from League One. He’s had a couple of things right previously but that’s very vague and could literally be guessing.
