If he goes we've got 2 equally talented wingers in the 23s waiting for their chance, so it's not all doom and gloom:emoticon-0105-wink:

Last 4 championship winners had no english football experience before joining their team.

Reckon this year's one might. <laugh>

But yes, point taken, it's why as I said, it's a TWT situation. But let's not overstate his previous experience.

To be fair whether it's Uzbekistan or not Pakhtor hadn't won the league in 3 or 4 years until he joined, that has me sold as a HUGE uzbekistani football watcher...

I hope his plans for the academy are addressed tomorrow as I'd hate to see that pathway which credit to the Allams for has been ever present in the last 3 years. We have some incredibly talented 18/19 year olds that are dying for a chance to prove themselves and I'd hate to see that pathway closed.

100% that's the biggest thing for me too, would love to see more investment in the Academy and training ground as those are tangible assets we should be looking to improve. We have a potentially huge catchment area with little to no competition (especially with the troubles at Grimsby and Scunny) so should be taking full advantage.

Fact that Pennock, Richardson, Daws is still there tell you something?

One of my best mates, who scores near enough every week for the 23s has been itching for a chance to prove himself at a senior level, I'd love to see our academy gain some pedigree to the point where lg1/2 clubs trust us enough to bring in our youngsters as I'm not a fan of us sending them to Clee Town/Pickering level when they're above that, waste of time.

Local catchment area is nothing in comparison to Acun Medya's international reach.

Make no mistake. Tapping International markets is absolutely part of the businessplan.

Georgia's biggest football export as the head coach, Iran's biggest football export signing. Turkey's biggest media figure owning the club. You don't need to ditch the word "City" to be relevant globally you just need to know how the world works...

That's great, but local players coming through should be a vital and integral part of the club's plan going forward. What point is there watching a team of Iranian and Russian and Turkish players running around in amber and black if there's no connection to the local area?

I think there's a balance that can be struck.

Even Chelsea have a pathway to the first team for their kids.

Right, one of which I think I have seen mentioned is our catchment area, which was why I brought it up. It's a huge avenue to success both with bringing players through into the team, and developing and selling players for good money.

Yes we can also sign players globally and think big and be ambitious, but it's an avenue we need to continue to nurture and develop and not give up on.

It's a gold mine for Acun if the opportunities are there.

Snelgrove, Leake, Jarvis, Hinds could all be sold for 8 figures at one point if they are given the chance. Grant saw the potential hopefully Shota will too. Because if he doesn't someone else will and we'll be looking back thinking why they were never given the chance.

I'm aware mate, it's just a bit odd because it's like you're trying to rebuff and agree with my points at the same time so not even sure if we're disagreeing. <laugh>

Don't want them becoming another Greg Luer, need to develop them, get them in the right loans or opportunities in our first team over the next few seasons.

Having the Youth training in the same place as the first team would be a start. Those I named will all have a career in the game whether it's with us or not is the question. Known 2 of them best part of 3 years and have always known they'd make it at City if given the chance. Our academy is finally start to produce on a level that is recognised outside our club. Part of our success last season was the bond of the group and part of that was down to a core of the side playing together since they were 13.
