Yeah apparently he is primarily a LWB but as you've mentioned he's two footed and capable of playing on the right. Not seen him play though. Another journo was linking Sess on loan as part of the deal for the Verona midfielder, Barak. So if they tie in to one another it could be a sort of two birds with one stone scenario with Cambiaso, as I'd imagine he'd compete with Reguilon in Sessegnon's absence as well as Emerson assuming Doherty goes.
He has also said we need to strengthen in this very window though too. I think it's a "I know it's tough but get it done" type of attitude from him. I don't wanna think about him walking just yet but in four days time my mind could change. I think he's expecting at least one or two things to happen, and that's not just on the outgoing front.
Lo Celso got linked with a loan to Fiorentina last night (loan swap with Amrabat?). Ndombele and Dele still the same stuff that's been peddled about for days/ weeks.
Paratici hasn’t impressed me at all. We heard all about his extensive links over Europe so signing players would be easier etc This window in particular just seems the same old same old rubbish.
Because he's just a front This window follows the pattern of all the other windows when Levy and Hitchen were running the show. Paratici will be the fall guy eventually
**** Off Ndombele Watch Dan KP reports that he's rejected Valencia's offer and is dead-set on joining PSG, and even worse he's also rejected an offer from Everton Why is the second part worse? Well, we might have got a cut-price deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer... In side news, Sam Mokbel claims that Georginio Wijnaldum is open to being a makeweight in the deal taking Ndombele to Paris
Diaz Watch Nicolo Schira claims we've agreed personal terms with him, going so far as to claim that the contract is until 2026, and just have to thrash out the details with Porto Now, let me just check where Shira is on the tier list...**** In similar **** news, AS's Colombian office claims that Jorge Mendes is brokering the deal. Anyone got the sudden urge to double check that 20% of the transfer again?
Ndombele is going to just rot away collecting his huge wages until the summer isn’t he Although why would loaning him to Everton mean getting DCL cheaper? Would Spurs want him? Would he want to join knowing he’d be second choice especially in a World Cup year?
My implication being that if Everton thought Ndombele was a wise investment during an abysmal season, that might be the nudge that drops them to 17th on the last day
Another Italian journo, Matteo Moretto, reckons this is false. Was fun looking forward to the arrival of the Czech Kranjcar for a couple hours! Lol.
Before we signed PEH do you remember that Everton also wanted him? Well the day before we signed him I distinctly remember reports of him being sighted at the Everton training ground meeting his new team mates. The moral? Why the hell do we believe so-called "sports journalists" at all, let alone at transfer time? It's more about them trying to make themselves sound like they know what is going on, and thus justify their own existence when clearly they mostly don't have a clue. I don't know what proportion of transfers were well known in advance, or really came from 'contacts' unless of course it suited a club to talk to a "journalist". But I would suggest that most of them know no more than we do, and if they do have contacts, those contacts aren't going to be giving up information that might jeopardise a move.
Bit different one story linking Hojbjerg with Everton than about 15 journalists linking us extensively for weeks with Traore. We believe sports journalists because it’s their job to pass on information. The same journalists that tell when a player is injured in training, when a player has been caught breaching covid guidelines, when a player has asked to leave a club and so on.
Personally if this is true I think we have dodged the bullet with Traore , I'm sick of seeing so called wingers charging down the pitch with head down only to blunder up yet another blind ally , how long would it take for AC to turn him into a decent wing back , does he want to play wing back it doesn't look like we will know now With a good couple of transfers we can still make third this season but not trying to turn players into something they're not
Yeah I think most didn't want Traore, very few rate the guy (Spurly, I'm looking at you here ), though this club chasing him for practically the whole window is the problem. We've now got four days to sign someone else if Conte truly wants another RWB, amongst other positions. And I think that's what's most annoying, there is a genuine feel that a few good signings could get us top four under Conte and a few days out from the window closing, we've given him no one so far.
I never particularly wanted Adama, but I do wonder if this is proving that we as a club (and particularly Levy as a negotiator) have just pissed off too many clubs and chairman with our (his) difficult style of dealing with transfers. Wolves were adamant that Traore would not join us on loan, and a few days later he joins Barca...On loan, maybe the player was never set on joining us but this smacks of we didn't want to deal with Spurs.
Paratici handles transfers and negotiations now though. Levy doesn’t get involved in that side anymore
