Somebody has collapsed in the crowd at the Spurs v Chelsea game. This is happening nearly every weekend now. Because nobody can get treatment anymore on the NHS, even for very serious conditions that will likely kill them. Over 6 million on waiting lists, some for two or three years. People are just beginning to keel over wherever they happen to be. At home, at work or at football.
Eric Cantona has stated that he won't be watching the W/C because of the way they treated the people who built the statiums.
Well said Mr Cantona It's about time others of good conscience said the same. Shame on those whose snouts are too far into the World Cup trough to dare to rock the boat. And shame on Southgate and his 'right-on' holier than thou England team.
The "Spit your Dummy Out" award today goes to... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60063318 Cristiano Ronaldo For being such a self-obsessed sulk that he did not celebrate Utd's 3rd goal after being subbed. What a big baby.
Jesus Christ ! Are there really only about 20 managers in the whole of the world or something ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60122964
Methinks the President of FIFA over-estimates the influence of football in some parts of the world... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60145227 I don't think having a World Cup tournament every two years instead of four is going to prevent one African migrant getting into a boat to cross the Mediterranean Sea. And that must be the daftest and poorest taste reason put forward so far in favour of a two yearly tournament.
He's probably a well meaning idiot. But FIFA needs to end its feud with UEFA, not ramp it up with silly claims that a 2 yearly World Cup will be a humanitarian triumph for the Third World. I wouldn't mind if FIFA and UEFA just went their separate ways. We can play in European Championships every 2 years then, and FIFA can hold a World Cup every two years, ans the European teams who don't qualify for the Euro Championships can "drop" into the World Cup. So the European Championships becomes the Nations' equivalent of the Champion's League, and the World Cup becomes the Nations' equivalent of the Europa League. Sorted That was easy
Derby County saved from expulsion / liquidation for another month... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60146360 I don't care about their Club, but I can't help having sympathy for their fans. No life long fan of a Club that has been at the heart of their community for generations should have to see it closed.
