because the lads that post stuff know a deal is not certain until all the paperwork is done and the scarf pic is posted on the club website, so rather than saying they are 100% sure a deal is going to happen they tell it like it is and say something along the lines of 'there is a chance...' or 'yes it might happen...' and so on, so those who wish to sit and have a pop always have a reason to have a go at them because none want to commit to anything being 'certain'...so no matter how many times they do get anything right, there is always someone waiting to dissect their every post to find a 'probably' so they can say they are 'full of it'. also, it is not just the ITK posts, they do it on many posts but for some reason the nastiness seems worse during the transfer windows.
Nice write up from SAFC re this deal. I was never convinced by him but he’s given 10 years to this club and is obviously highly thought of by those who know him. Good luck to him
That's my fear, this lad may turn out better than Gooch, Diamond, Dajaku and McGeady.. but atm we need a Broadhead replacement. Yes Defoe may or may not fit the bill and may or may not be coming but imho we need him in addition to not instead of... AoB is not good enough.
What's the crack with Ali Koiki then? Is he the replacement LB and its close to being announced or just one of a number of options to be resolved in coming days.
it’s being reported by various papers in other parts of the country that we’re in talks but I’ve seen nothing from our locals.
Forgive my ignorance but how many loan players are we allowed in our side. We have Clark, Doyle, Hoffman, Dajaku and Broadband as far as I recall. I think some are possible to sign at the end of the loan (The German Lads) and I know Alves returning to WHU freed up a place but what is the situation regarding how many we are allowed and how many can play at the same time. Will any more coming in be loans or permanent signings. Has Defoe been released or will he be a loan.
Another chap on RTG saying he’s heard Defoe is a dead cert. I’m now In the believer camp ! Na, na, na, na, na, nana, na, na, Jermain Defoe?

I am also acutely aware that RAOS membership could await. My pal who I was at school with more years ago than either of us care to remember, is now a very successful NE businessman and has been financially supporting the club for decades through various sponsorship deals. He is currently helping a first team player with some business arrangements. Their names are naturally not going to be released. This player has confirmed that Jermain Defoe will be returning to Sunderland this week. I cannot and will not comment further. Ha'way the Lads.
