I've watched Alli be completely anonymous in and walk through many matches, something Ralph would certainly not tolerate. Then Alli would sulk and could even end up affecting the morale of his best mate KWP. Obviously Alli has ability and my scenario is a very negative one, but it's also something that must not be allowed to happen. That coupled with his likely high wages, please let Newcastle take him instead. Thanks!
Even if getting Dele was realistic (which I really don't think it is, primarily because of wages), I'm not sure how much we would benefit. He couldn't fire us to FA cup glory, because he's cup-tied. We don't need him to save us from relegation, because we're not in trouble. It's very unlikely that he would propel us into the top seven and Europe. If he performs poorly, he'd be a waste of a loan. If he performs well, he'd either get reintegrated into Spurs or get a permanent move elsewhere - which probably wouldn't be to us. Spurs win from such a loan. The player potentially wins from such a loan. But I'm struggling to see where we win from such a loan, aside from maybe the odd extra million for finishing marginally higher up in the league.
Hmm, seems odd. We convince him to join from Chelsea due to lack of route to the first team, then loan him to league 2 after 6 months of 0 minutes in the first team.
It isn’t strange at all. If you read the messages at the time he was never guaranteed any game time this season. Not at all. He was specifically signed for the B team this season He got to the bench because of a covid outbreak among the defenders He is still an awful lot closer to a pathway than at Chelsea . We are talking about a club that felt able to sell Tomori , Zouma and Guehi all in one window. Because of who they had already both in the first team and reserves and that they have been linked with more signings. For example linked with Kounde even whilst trying to keep all their existing defenders. He moves in as Silva starts to phase out. Simeu stays in whatever place in the queue he was
This. Simeu isn't ready for PL football. Neither is Small. Tino is just one of those extraordinary talents that make other teenagers look worse than they are!
Also - worth really paying attention to that tweet about the Carlisle manager. I get the impression we were actively looking to loan him out . But the interest shown here was too much to ignore
A quick Google also shows rumours linking him to Everton, Burnley, Brighton…. Newcastle of course…. He’ll likely go somewhere in loan but I doubt it will be us, it’s just not our style
We really don't need someone "precious" coming in and unsettling the carefully fostered team spirit that has developed, it's a definite no from me,
I don't know what his attitude is like these days so I can't comment on whether or not he would be disruptive. What he would bring to the table and something we've been lacking is creativity. We've never replaced Tadic, someone who could knit midfield and attack together.
If Ralph could get him motivated and playing, I've no doubt he'd be fantastic. Would need to shake off the Billy Big Bollocks stuff and knuckle down.
Surely must be the most expensive PL striker never to score a goal for his club? Just in transfer fee, we paid about £37.5k per minute played for us.
