Be interesting to see if we actually go for and sign Haidara from Leipzig, or if it's just gossip nonsense.

Interestingly, he plays alongside Bissouma for Mali, who we most definitely should pursue.

You're definitely right though, a fit Pogba is an asset, he should be utilised to try to get fourth at least.

They are still lots of matches to play. We shouldn’t be throwing the season away yet. If Pogba can come back, get the most of him before he leaves in the summer.

The names that keep popping up are Haidara and Zakaria.

I don't know anything about either but both play in Germany so assume Rangnick knows them and rates them from that.

Hate to sound like a stuck record but the one we should go for is Bissouma from Brighton.

Get him, and both Pogba and McTominay would flourish alongside him.

We need to forget about Pogba. We should not be doing anything that involves Pogba in the team. He’s already gone and we should firmly focus on the team that will start next season.

I’m also strongly against buying players in this window. I’m thinking along the lines of getting a system in place as top priority. Shed some fat during this transfer window, utilize what’s already in the squad, then and reassess weaknesses to be fixed during the summer transfer window as the a management takes charge.

It looks like at least three players are going out on loans in addition to Martial: Donny, Amad and Jesse.

We need to make those loans longer than six months for most of those players with longer contracts.

I’m far more satisfied with that than signing yet another player at this juncture. Especially in that crowded midfield.

Well that's Mason Greenwood out of the equation. He's done for.

I suppose at least Sancho will get more game time!

There is an audio? I saw the pictures and they are pretty shocking! Many of these players are as dumb as the ball they kick about.

    What a disaster!

At least the club have acted quickly and decisively rather than reacting in dribs and drabs to media headlines. If that piece of **** ever wears a Manchester United shirt again...........................

    How can he not?

Although, he could claim that they liked that sort of stuff. It's not unheard of.

I'm not defending him by the way, but that could be his story.

We need to quickly **** him off.

I don't think Lingard should be going anywhere now Greenwood is gone and DVDB is off out on loan.

Explains why Southgate stopped selecting him despite the huge pressure from pundits. He must have sensed or heard something.

That’s hundred mill down the drain for the GGs <cool>

Which big club is going to buy him? His career is finished.

Didn't realise we were going to sell him?

His career is over no doubt, but he cost nothing and now his wages are off the books.

    Again, call me hard nosed.

Plenty of players to take his place.

I remember reading that Ronaldo had a problem with him. It all makes sense now. No discipline which has led to various problems off the field and now this.

Agreed, no way he's coming back. Contract terminated, or should be.

Good point about the squad. We keep Lingard until the summer and get the best out of him.

One thing to consider though, which hasn't been mentioned, this could impact mentally and professionally (pressure/spotlight) on the players and the club, leading to an already fragile and under-par season falling apart on the pitch.

I don’t think it should affect the team. He’s still largely a junior member of the squad. So the fallout for shouldn’t be that disruptive. In recent years, we’ve seen this happen to players playing for the top teams.

But this incident certainly calls into question how the club is managing its players from discipline perspective.

We tend to have a history of any controversy or disruption affecting our performances. I'm thinking back more to the Fergie era but I reckon it still applies.
