Whatever happened to the contract to a ferry company with no ferries. I don’t hold up much hope, they’ll be shoddy excuses that you’d have to be a total sycophant or an idiot to believe.

You can believe in the independence of the judiciary, Will. Look at the hassle it gave Boris Johnson when he tried to prorogue an unruly and log-jammed Parliament.

Sorry to,piss on your bonfire Wills, but when reading about the “ferry story”, it doesn’t actually seem as daft and corrupt as it seems.
The company was a start up, was in advanced negations with ports and had been checked by many civil servants (I assume not all Tories) from the DOT as to their claims that they could provide the service and this was verified
I know the story looks mad but isn’t this what a lot of investors do by backing start ups ? I’d love to beable to bash the Tories at every turn, however I also like to look at the facts behind the headlines. If I’m wrong in any of what I’ve said then please enlighten me as I’d genuinely be interested in the truth. If this was blatant corruption, which on the face of it seems possible, then why wasn’t anyone charged ?

Seems one hell of a risk to offer such a big contract to a start up with at that stage no hardware so to speak, you would expect startups to be bidding on smaller contracts, build up a proven track record before competing with the big boys. If you were asking a building firm to build a 300 house development would you go to one of the well established companies or someone who has no portfolio of work and no equipment? I’m having a loft conversion this year and there’s no ****ing way I’d have a startup do it.

The industry I work in there’s a hell of a lot of work/products purchased through a tender process which sometimes what I do sees me on the fringe of the process, so seeing some of the information coming out in the last couple of years has been, well frightening. Contracts given to family/friends/donors, inadequate products being provided, contracts not being fore filled, we aren’t talking about one or two contracts here either. I have little doubt many of these contracts will fall short of the standards expected of a tender process however ‘these were unprecedented times’ will be used as an excuse… it’s whether or not you buy that as a reason why the government and public purse were ripped off left right and centre which is bollocks as a robust tender process can be done quickly enough. Or you believe pockets are being lined and palms greased.

Mate I’ve no doubt their were palms greased at certain times, by certain people…..it happens, and it ain’t just the Tories that’s for sure.
My point is, and I’ve heard nothing to say different, is that this “ferry company without ferries” is being used way out of proportion.

As a side note, please don’t think I’ve become a closet Tory by my defence of their actions….I hate the ****s with a vengeance ;)

I think it’s used to show the level of ridiculousness, ineptitude and corruption that the current government are at. Whilst yeah power corrupts and I have no doubt if Labour or the Libs were in power there would be examples but these ****s take it to a whole new level. The ferry example is one that most people can understand.

But again though mate…..isn’t it just simplistic bollox promoted by the MSM to feed the minds of the general public.
I mean they’ve done it for years against others but it doesn’t sit well with me.

I always like it when they ask GG about playing a cat and dancing in a one piece of CBB….as he rightly said, when he does something, anything he’ll do it properly and he raised thousands for charity.
where’s the problem in that ?

Not followed this conversation at all but Galloway is a weird anti-Semitic midget **** who should die in a massive fire. This will be my only comment until my next comment.

The maximum fine for this breach of lockdown offence is £100 apparently. And this only applies to organisers. So unless Boris was taking time out of his day to organise drinks parties, he won't be impacted. This all looks cosmetic.

Its not like Joe Bloggs having his mates round, it’s the figurehead of those implementing the rules overseeing his staff and himself breach the rules a reported 17 times we are aware of 7 or 8 that he attended himself, then proceeding to lie about it making a complete mockery of the situation.

The one really telling thing bizarrely comes back to that **** Cummings.. it was odd at the time Johnson and his cohorts defended him, but we now know it’s because he was aware of numerous breaches that involved Johnson… so Johnson was well aware there were wrong doings and tried to hide them as the public would have gone crazy.

I think you are getting a bit carried away here Wills. Most of the people that defended Cummings weren’t at the party’s . Cummings left No 10 in the Jan and Prince Phillip died in the April?
Truth is Boris had some gatherings ( which is wrong). He apologised and wants to get on with important issues. like I said before, there is an orchestrated campaign to remove him from No 10. A witch-hunt that is starting to backfire. The only voices now are the usual lot who want him gone.
