That is true but look at all the enjoyment we have given to the owners and supporters of clubs who were once mighty but are now a pathetic shambles It always makes fans happy when they can ignore how much of a shambles their club is by laughing at another club Not that we at Watford would ever do that
Roy Hodgson has been heavily backed . Be a very bizarre left field appointment but he did work at Udinese with the Pozzos . Not sure Harry the Hornet would be very happy either !
Not sure I would welcome that unless he comes with an ambitious young manager to take over in a year or so
I love the fact you think it's a possibility that he could last up to a couple of years, I'm impressed with your optimism. It would be a weird appointment though. Pozzo contracts have loads of break clauses and lump sum payments usually so it's not always a large amount paying off the ex coaches.
Perhaps the club leadership had doubts about a 70 year old head coach so they are replacing him with a 74 year old head coach.
He must surely only be a stop-gap until the end of the season (in view of his age). It would be preferable if he was then replaced by a talented young coach such as Diego Martinez, but there have been suggestions that Leeds might offer Martinez a job when Blelsa's contract expires in the summer. Leeds' Director of Football, Victor Orta, knows Diego Martinez from their time together at Seville.
Breaking: Roy Hodgson has emerged as the favourite to be the new Watford manager. There is still work to be done on the deal. He could be unveiled as early as tomorrow. Sky
And presumably the return of Ray Lewington. Is f hi r the younger up and coming sidekick to take over in 1-2 years. What goes around…
Basically they hope he will get the defence organised enough to keep us up . I doubt he will be here either way next season. Be a short term deal with the new manager depending on what league we are in.
Ray saved us a few years ago and got us to two semi finals with out any money and the team taking a pay cut
Contract to the end of the season and a bonus for 17th or higher? Seems a reasonable choice. Did well at Palace. Used to working with the sort of players at his disposal. He could be just the ticket.
