It's a bit of a farce overall but I'd say that Hodgson should do a good job of getting the most out of what he's got. They're a better team than their league position and he'd be a sensible choice.
I'd say Hodgson is a better tactician than Howe tbh. Watford aren't short of fight, or energy, just organisation. There seems to be a lot of young players who'll benefit from Hodgson's rigid tactics.
Obviously a short term appointment, I'm a little suprised Hodgson has agreed to it. He will get them organised that's for sure
I like Hodgson as a coach, albeit not necessarily his style of play. He is as experienced as they come, is very good tactically, and like everyone has said his organisation is very good. He is supposed to be a good man manager too. I suppose Ray Lewington will go with him and he has Watford connections.
No lose situation for him - he knows he's going to get sacked whatever he does and they'll pay him 3 years salary for 4 months work!! I do think that there is a good team there and with a bit more organisation they have enough about them to get out of trouble. This is probably the only occasion that I actually think their board has got it right by sacking their manager.
No football club should have a plan of what to do if the manager suddenly kicks the bucket on the front burner.
Not convinced he'll manage to rescue them meself, But I'd love to see him send the mags down. Good luck Woy.
