Kessie is rapidly becoming a bingo card for January moves to collapse: Milan are currently in second, he's at the AFCoN - all we need now is one of Milan's CM's to do their hamstring
I’m hoping the club maybe has the signal from Kessie that he’d be willing to leave in January for the right inc£ntive$, otherwise we’d be stupid (which unfortunately wouldn’t come as a surprise). Agent though seems another sticking point.
I would say we could try blackmailing them by saying we won’t sell them Tanganga if they don’t help speed up our move for Kessie but based on Tanganga’s recent performances they maybe re-thinking their deal for him.
The only surprise I have is that Kessie's agent isn't one of his relatives The fact that Kessie is 50% of his client base is a tad worrying though...
WindyCOYS suggests that it isn't Michael Lavinier headed to Charlton on loan, but Nile John There's also plenty of talk out of Portugal that we're about to make £8m from Edwards' sell-on
Who’s he joining? Better be a big club considering the club have been slated for how they handled his progressions
Sofyan Amrabat’s name has popped up. Not the Fiorentina player I’d like to sign though if truth be told…not the type of midfielder we need either. McKennie’s name came about again too. Wijnaldum also got linked as part of an Ndombele swap deal. I think he’s seen his very best years but if bringing him in meant we could get rid of Ndombele then I’d be all for it. Just need to start seeing some “Here we go’s!” from Romano sooner rather than later.
DH is always optimistic like **** every window even going into the last evening on Jan 31st he will be convincing us that we will make a few signings
Conte is sticking around to aim for 5th or 6th. He left Inter for less. This window can’t solve all the personnel issues but it needs to be the start. So far, nothing has happened at all. Dele, Lo Celso aren’t playing and aren’t in Conte’s plans yet are still at the club draining wages. Also worrying that any incoming business seems to be reliant on players leaving first (as usual)
Wages for the rest of the season for Dele and Lo Celso are about £5m between them. So if we can sell them for £6m more in the summer it's better to keep them. It's a judgement call not an emergency.
The belief there is that, with Bergwijn justifying staying until at least the end of the season, we need to shift somebody else to free up some Non HG spots and Lo Celso is where the Sword of Damocles decided to dangle We'd better be bringing in a CM this window, because unless Harvey White is getting a run in the side we could be particularly shorthanded there for the back end of the season
That's a big IF. I've seen nothing to indicate their value won't drop further between now and the Summer.
In other news, Jack Clarke is being linked with a loan to Sunderland Once again, thanks Leeds for losing count of how many loanees you had...
Their value will certainly be lower. Whether anyone is prepared to buy them anywhere near value is the judgement.
