He’s a bit of a home bird. Him and his family had been told they wanted him to go out on loan and they said no.

agreed though, a loan somewhere local would have worked.

Pompey is about as far as he could getaway from the place. What's gone on there then

I guess he’s a bit older now haha. Just what I remember being told by one of his family members when he was younger.

I’d send Hume to Shields me.

    Its about his level.

Whether it’s Defoe or otherwise we must sign a striker or it may well cost us.

Mind, Dajaku can and has played up top so he’s an option there, just if owt happens to LND we are ****ed, we’d be recalling Grigg and I’d vomit.

Was thinking about JD and his fitness. He was a massive advocate of the cryotherapy chamber the club had and claimed it was a big factor in his fitness levels and conditioning. When he went to Rangers, one was installed not long afterwards. If they do work, I wonder if this will have impacted on his current fitness, and what the impact on his fitness and injuries etc. will be of him moving to a club without one. If he was to get into coaching with us in the future too, it would be good to see him trying to get more modern techniques implemented at the AOL.

We never owned it. IIRC we leased the chamber and after Bain sorted his back out we didn't renew the lease and sent it back.

I've seen the lad a couple of times taking the grandson to Morecambe and I like him, however can't see them willing to sell as they are still in the bottom four and they're asking price probably wouldn't fit our current spending regime.
He has good movement and gets his goals from range as well as tap ins, he's strong and puts himself about, with our midfield I think he'd do well here but we'll have to wait and see.

have to be careful with players like this, imo.

he’s having his only good season to date and is 27. I know he might just be a late bloomer but I don’t think he’s worth the risk given the money he’d probably cost.

How much would he cost do we think? I think Morecambe are a well ran club from what I've read so they may not be under pressure to sell.

They’ll want 7 figures for him for sure.
Would be completely against everything the new guys have done

Not sure if Stockton fits the transfer profile but he seems to have the qualities needed to either back up Stewart or play with him. Perhaps the club have other targets that fit the bill. I certainly would not like to see him play for an other promotion contender.

Didn't think it would be as much as that. That is quite a chunk of cash for a backup I suppose.

I agree with both of you. At 2 or 3 years younger or a more regular goal scoring record in the last few years he'd be worth a punt, but as it is it could be a Charlie Wyke scenario. A good season followed by a couple of poor ones. Just have to trust the recruitment team to know what they're doing

To compare he’s doing about as well as Stewart in a much worse side. He’s obviously a bit older and from what I’ve seen his all round game isn’t quite as good but would you entertain selling Stewart for less than 7 figures?
We won’t be after him and I tend to think that’s right, he may well be having a one off golden season like Wykes last year and I’m not convinced he’ll be good enough to step up but for this season alone he’s a good signing for anyone wanting to improve their front line.

Definitely not. Will be interesting to see if Stockton gets a move and how much he goes for
