Yeah the reason it took so long was to check whether it was in or out of the box. I think they made their minds up pretty quickly that it was a foul

I REALLY enjoyed that game. went into it relaxed because City are clear and away the best team in the league. Seeing KWP start put a smile on my face and the goal was sublimely struck. Love that guy.

But.. I love everyone on this team at the moment. Perraud was absolutely fantastic today he gave every player that came near him so much ****, it was brilliant. Even KDB got a knee. It was classic hard defending and it worked. Between him and Salisu for Motm for me. After his cousin's cameo against Wolves our Sali was back to his best, barely put a foot wrong all game. So hard to single anyone out when they were so good as a team though. If that 2nd for Boja had been onside then who knows what would have happened. Without the ball for 80% of the game we lost all sense of what to do with it which was pretty excruciating into the 2nd half.

Great game management by Ralph tho I don't know why Redders was subbed - injury? Moi had no impact on the game at all but hardly his fault.

Unexpected points are the best kind, march on boys!

You know someone once worked out for every cigarette smoked it reduced life expectancy by 20 minutes or something like that?
They should now do the same for every Saints game you go to, just so I know how many I've got left in me. I wasn't expecting much so I was quite relaxed going to the game, nothing to lose. But then we went and scored so for the next 83+ minutes there was something to lose. The last 1/4 hour was excruciating for a bed wetter like me.
    It's 1.50am and I'm still up.

I would like to have seen that too. Seems strange that bringing someone down and denying a goal scoring opportunity is a legitimate tactic if the person is offside (IF he was offside).

This exactly sums up my perception of the game. I would add that I think taking two points of Man City this season should not be underestimated. Sterling did not have his shooting boots on yesterday but i would otherwise have to say that I think Pepe's City team has taken football to th highest level it has ever been played at in the UK. Ferguson's Utd were execptional yet the way City retain the ball and keep their shape in order to make the other team work is incredible. City play the way that every supporter hopes their team could play. I think Saints were exceptional yesteday and it was a superhuman performance. I will be disappointed if Ralph's team does not finish well within the Top Ten because this is how good I think we actually are.

An absolute master class in how to play without the ball, and make the most of the few times we actually had possession. Many times in the past I’ve seen us work really hard against better teams, but then when we do gain possession, all stand there thinking “bloody hell, now what?” Do that for a fraction of a second against City, and they’ve shut you down completely.

I thought so too, they were all surprisingly complementary and not remotely patronising about us.

On another note, at one point JWP put in a brilliant tackle just inside their half. The bloke behind me said "You know you support Southampton, when we're all cheering a tackle on the half way line."

I wonder if Salisu might even make Crooks’ team of the week this week. In order for him to sell him to Liverpool.

A word for Peraud, for consistently getting the better of Sterling (with a lot of help from Redmond in the first half).

Yes, Tino is not going to find it easy to get back into the team after yesterday's performances of our FBs, both were great moving forward too.
