On current performance, it would take P'boro & Barnsley more than 10 games to close the gap. This squad won't collapse as we did a couple of years ago. I think it's more down to how bad P'boro and Barnsley are really. I can't see how they magically start winning, I watched a bit of Posh the other day and they were absolutely dreadful.
Of the five teams below us they collectively have 4 wins in the collective 25 games. 3 of those are Derby's, so 1 win in 20 for the other four.
Considering Posh are selling their best players rather than strengthening I think we might be able to..
We were playing decent stuff though just making daft mistakes which were costing us. I saw P'Boro against Cov and they made our Stoke performance look good.
2 MASSIVE wins for us and we can now breathe a little easier. But to say 'job done' now is ridiculous .... unless / until new signings materialise. We have been and still are walking one hell of a narrow tightrope. As things stand, it would only take a couple of key injuries or suspensions and things would likely be very different on the pitch. If we do get Slater in (hardly the priority but still a welcome addition for next to nothing) plus at least a couple more then yes, it's hard to see us being at risk. We really still need additions at the back - imagine if say 1 or 2 of our CB's get injured; do we really want to be relying on Alfie Jones getting & staying fit or Festus stepping up? Same up front with this new player Tom Eaves. These next 8 days are key.
Far too early to be calling us safe this season.Look at 2 season's ago,we fell off a cliff, plummeted rapidly and ended up relegated. I'm pretty upbeat about things at the Club at the moment, we have a battling squad of players who fight for 90 minutes and it looks like the new owner wants to take us on another exciting journey but absolutely nothing should be taken for granted in Football...UTT!
It doesn't back up your view so of course it is.... But I'm sure if it was a stat attacking grants record you'd be all over it as a reason to sack him
Just an observation and opinion, nothing more nothing less. As for Terry, he's doing his chances of staying around no harm whatsoever. I've said before Terry's record at this level is awful but if he continues to get results he will have my support
I wonder what the average league position was under McCann compared to the average league position under Brown
He did say in an interview that he got on with Ehab but I remember saying to myself surely he’s just saying that in case the deal doesn’t come off.
I think he said the other day he spent a couple of hours at Ehab’s house this week and took him a bottle of champagne and a card to say thanks. So maybe they did actually get on well
