A bit chilly here tonight so got my wood burning fire going. And might pop out tomorrow in my petrol burning car with the chainsaw to get some more. Sorry Greta, your bullshit will not keep me and my kids warm.
So while were on the subject, Electric cars, yes the silent saviour of our generation. Mr Musk has made himself the richest man in the world with a car that has a tv screen bigger than most of us could dream about as children . We have all seen the adds, perfect multiracialcultural family park up at their perfect house and little miss perfect drops her violin case to go plug in the new car, of course it is not raining and she does not get electrocuted but they forgot to tell grandad who walks out with his walking stick but had forgotten his glasses, so he trips over the ****ing cable, brakes his hip and ends up in hospital. Where will the likes of the Trotters plug in? chuck a cable from the 9th floor to the street? Think back a few months the UK was a bit short on leccy, reason, It wasn't windy enough.WTF. And one more thing, if the ****ers don't get the tax from petrol where is it going to come from?
I don't see too much migration away from Australia, quite the reverse in fact. Africans and Asians are coming here all the time, same as a lot of Americans (Mostly rich celebrities it should be noted).
With all that's going on in the Global warming debate and large countries refusing to admit to it, why are some people so passionate about the number of cows farting?
Yes, but it took the government nearly two weeks to pluck up the courage to do it. Same as the global warming debate, they haven't got the balls to tackle it head on, you never know (well, actually you do) they may offend someone.
Don't know about artificial trees but I've just received a letter from my cousin in Scotland telling us of a scheme to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee of planting thousands of trees. Her town/village is planting 5000 beginning next week. If every town in the UK did this it would surely make some difference.
Just because it's not happening now in Australia doesn't mean it won't in the future. The fires on the west coast of the U.S have resulted in many people moving away from the area and its not going to get any better anytime soon. It might take a few generations but the way things are going....... Nature will find a way.
I'm surprised he got out Oz has gone back to being a penal colony hasn't it, especially with rulers like that crackpot Dan Andrews
It's the doomsday alarmists always banging on about the cows dropping their guts Brissy. Fart and let fart I say.
Interesting discussion. I have a couple of questions. How long does each different type of CO2 stay in the atmosphere? In the 1999 report the IPCC said it was between 5-10 years but now you look at the NASA video of the circulation of CO2 in a year and it seems to completely clear. CO2 levels have increased more rapidly since we've been able to measure it directly. Historic CO2 levels are measured from Ice cores, mainly taken from the Antarctic. I refer you back to the NASA video that shows large increases in CO2 concentration in the northern hemisphere, not, it seems in the Southern. CO2 measurements are taken from atop a mountain in Hawaii and they are measured by satellites. It's strange that since they've had satellite data the concentrations have increased. The satellite measurements have to be adjusted for noise. It's a judgemental adjustment so depends on who is making the adjustment. I will give an example of my problem with it. If you ask a West Ham fan, Bowen wasn't interfering with play. Ask pretty much any other fan and he was. If the West Ham fan is writing the match report it will read very differently than if anyone else wrote it. I don't blame the scientists because they are pressured by the politicians to show the worst case scenario, just as they did with Covid
https://www.carbonbrief.org/analysi...ature-record-shows-faster-warming-since-1970s It is very interesting to look at the datasets they use for their models. There is a huge amount of adjustment that needs to take place since the temperature data is incomplete. Have you ever wondered why we have Hadcrut 5 (probably not. It's one of the latest data sets) What was wrong with Hadcrut4? The problem was that it wasn't showing the warming they wanted. For example 2020 was not one of the warmest years according to Hadcrut 4 but it was with Hadcrut 5. Hadcrut 5 shows 0.1 degree more warming so it's better.
https://web.archive.org/web/2021062...kend/283-6cb686a4-18f3-496b-9a99-67ee367133ef You possibly remember last year that the pacific mid west, around Portland, had record high temperatures. The temperatures weren't extreme for places more inland but in that particular area they were. The temperature measurements were taken at Portland International Airport. I'm picking this specifically because I see an issue with the records. It hit 108 degrees. The previous record was 107 degrees from 1981 and 1965. Portland International Airport was built in 1958. Extreme temperatures are very often recorded at airports. Most likely because it is a large expanse of concrete with no cover. There are also airplanes flying in and out. Portland has become a very busy airport over the years but it has taken 40 years to surpass the old record. Isn't that surprising?
So you think, to paraphrase the above posts, that climate change isn't happening and quite possibly data and assessments are being manipulated to provide support to a false climate change theory. Just taking the potential effect on temperatures as one possible effect of climate change are you saying that this typical plot identifying the change in mean global temperatures is wrong or that it is caused by something else?
