I do think it’s too easy for teams to sit back and just accept a beating off City It’s far harder to set up to go toe to toe with us and accept whatever comes your way Not the first time we’ve come unstuck at Southampton,I remember vividly being outfought and outworked in midfield by the likes of jack cork before City are a world class side and were made to look ordinary at times today, you should be proud of the collective Suspect the media will put it down to an off day from City as per though
Great game. Really enjoying the effort week in week out from the whole squad. The technique KWP uses for the goal was unbelievable. Quick word for Lyanco too. He gets better every week and that was a real test for him today. Hard to play against City under the best of circumstances but to come on late when they are throwing everything at us, he kept a cool head (and even threatened at the other end!)
I expect After the Bernardo could Romeu told him to try pulling his socks up and wearing a proper shin guard. He wouldn’t look such a prick and would be less likely to need to curl up in a ball holding his bare legs. I don’t know what the league allows him to play like that.
We've tried to make the race for the title interesting for the onlooking world by doing our bit to stop City running away with it. Just a shame others haven't been up to it.
Unbelievable today. First half we were right in it. Faded a bit second half but to get the point is absolutely sensational. Credit to Ralph and the chaps.
Thank you for the appreciation. When you attack it’s as if you have 2 extra players on the pitch, yet when we were winning the ball back and trying to hit on the break you still had plenty of cover. You’re difficult to play against, not just because of the quality on the ball but because of the quality between the players ears (Kyle Walker excluded obviously ). The movement off the ball and the anticipation of where a pass will fall etc, added to the fact that you’re work rate is so high, makes any point won, worthy of recognition. Ps. Can we play you every week?
Got very lucky with the penalty appeal. It was so close to being inside the area. Armstrong definitely a yellow and not a red.
Shame, was looking forward to seeing the Broja offside-penalty appeal on MotD. Guess showing it would detract from the narrative that we were in our penalty area the entire 2nd half.
Yes and no. We got the correct side of the coin for once in terms of overturning a clear and obvious error. The fact they had to look at it for about half an hour means, quite simply, that it wasn't clear and obvious.
It's a weird one, because VAR did determine that it was a clear and obvious error as far as I'm aware. The ruling was that the foul didn't occur inside the area, which means that the determination was that it was a foul. Whereas the ref's ruling in real-time was that it wasn't a foul at all. But VAR doesn't award fouls outside the box, so it can't result in a free kick on the edge.
