I think he has done very well recently but in all honesty we have not done all season what we have done in the last 2 league games, now that could be because of change of ownership and players and fan support is bouncing at the moment or the players could be playing for Grant to keep his job, but then you have to ask if they are then why they have not played every game this season like that for him. Myself i think the supporters have given the players the lift they needed and the new owner has given the supporters the lift they needed, whatever happens with Grants position my opinion is decisions have already been made.
Under the cosh early on today alright but I doubt many of our lot who had gone down there today gave a F’ck at the final whistle. Fans tend to celebrate results rather than performance but to his credit today McCann somehow turned being under the cosh into a victory. Keep saying it but somebody has a massive call to make on McCann and depending how you rate him results like today ain’t making it any easier.
To be fair, bar Stoke, I think they have pretty much given everything for him all season. Effort has never been the issue (ooh, and bar Wilks)
Results like the last 2, I would suggest make it nigh on impossible to get rid of him at the minute, yes we are 10 points clear now of the drop zone but the last 2 games the lads have put immense shifts in, will a new manager get that with this crop of players? And today, kudos to the bloke for making those changes that allowed us to get a foothold in the game after half time. I'm not a fan, but you can't argue that currently he is getting the best out of what he has tbh.
I don't have to change mind either.I said 'in' at the start. At one point I thought he should've been bumped but couldn't be arsed in changing my vote
Christ you want the perfect world every time we ride luck or ‘ get lucky ‘ fans see it as a negative , it is Football ! Other weeks even if we win the losers may have had luck that they didn’t let more in - but you don’t notice because we won . I have an elder brother who seems to think we should attack fir 90 minutes forgetting that there are 11 players trying to stop you! And I. Every game the other team will have periods of superiority , it’s what they do with it that matters and Bournemouth failed!!
Last post fir tonight - Fitnessits a long time since I’ve seen a Coty team who could see out the full 90 and still be on it and after an attack , a couple of years ago we’d be all over the place after 75 mins gotta credit the training
I agree it's too much, but it's just the way it is with the media. Phil Buckingham is doing the same on The Athletic. The sensible attitude is to just enjoy the wins and wait and see what happens with the manager, but media outlets don't work like that. They need a hot topic all the time and in RH's case they need a question for the phone-ins.
I didnt change my vote after 4 on the bounce. I did after 6 wins and 3 draws (over the 90) in the last 12 games.
I think the biggest point is why do we need to change the manager? We're 10 points above the bottom 3, Barnsley and Peterborough are dreadful and Derby have their well-documented issues. We aren't going down and I think that's something we can all say with confidence now. That's job done for this season and anything else is a bonus. It's a weird one but 4 days ago it felt like this window was do or die, we're incredibly short of bodies, the takeover was dragging on and we had a really tough run of games and it was difficult to see where the next point was coming from. But fair play to the lads, they've been magnificent in the last 2, 2 clean sheets against 2nd & 3rd is outstanding. We've got Slater in the door for £50k which is a bargain and hopefully Pesic & Allahyar too. If there are any more good deals around this month then we can strengthen and get them done too. It's a really nice situation to be in and we can spend time planning for a decent overhaul in the summer. It also gives us some time to sort contracts for some of the existing lads. I'd reassess the manager's position in the summer but it wouldn't surprise me if we go on another decent run, and if Pesic hits the ground running we could really start picking up points quickly.
