i always thought it was "you dont look at the mantelpiece while you are poking the fire or polishing the ornaments" kebab shops werent invented when that phrase was coined despite kebab meat often sticking to the poker. but i do get the sentiment
I’ll hold my hands up and admit I was too harsh when calling for McCann’s head. For as long as the team are playing well and/or grinding out results, I think he should keep the job. I think sacking him would be counterintuitive at this point in time. The players after full-time were grinning from ear to ear. I don’t see what good McCann going would do for the team spirit and morale. I think Acun knows this as well.
it's not every day you beat two of the division's top three in four days. especially when you're 19th.
Fabulous performance. Soaked it up with some great last ditch defending in the first half. Then Eaves, KLP and Longman turned it on in the second period. Hope Williams is ok - he looked in real trouble when going off. He’s been fantastic last few games. Looks so disciplined compared to his games at the beginning of the season when he was almost trying too hard to impress. Superb support. Haven’t enjoyed a game so much in ages. Loved the new song to the Stone Roses’ Waterfall but couldn’t hear the words enough to join in. Enjoyed the tune. Less impressed with Tequila. Might work better replacing Tequila with ‘The Tigers’, otherwise seems pretty irrelevant (and almost as annoying as Bournemouth’s drum).
We walked back to the station from the ground, hardly a Bournemouth supporter to be seen. Went and had a pint in the Bell, Bournemouth supporters were moaning that we kept faking injuries. I told them that our players don’t fake being hurt. Apparently Smallwood was rolling about and when the ref didn’t give a foul, he jumped up. I didn’t see it myself. The ref did have some odd calls. Stopping play for those player being on the floor and then giving the ball to them, but we had possession when play was stopped. As we left, I wished them the best but said I hate that **** Parker for his tackle that took out Bullard and that beating any team that he is involved in is always a pleasure.
My celebratory kebab hasn't turned up. Knew I should have gone to collect but had a couple of pints now
Well, watched the first half through my fingers whilst gritting my teeth, but at half time I had to take my selfish mother to stupid hospital in ****ing miles away Sheffield. Didn't feel too bad at the time seeing as we were going to get dry humped in the second half but when news of the goal reached us on the suddenly loud, suddenly quiet Radio 5 via the antiquated medium wavelength transmission, I suddenly realised two things. One, I'm missing a classic smash and grab and should be filled to the brim with alcohol right now, fending off the dog as I bounce around like a man possessed. And two, celebrating a goal in the fast lane of the M18 when you're the driver is both reckless and irresponsible. What a great week. As far as I'm concerned it's a clean slate for McCann. Managed 2. Won 2.
She got skin cancer, INSIDE HER ****ING EYEBALL. So other than her eye sitting in a jar on some surgeon's desk, she's pretty good. I do hear she has a very handsome son, who is also strong.
