It's about getting the RIGHT players in the door. Club are doing all they can to achieve that but Jan is a horrible window. Perhaps Staveley, to please the 'just get players in FFS' brigade should just go get a load of championship midfielders.... or.... perhaps...... we sit back and see what the club can do in a dificult market. I'd rather the right players who will be part of our future (and who what to join) come in the door rather than a bunch of no marks as we've done that one in the past.
Not critising the new owners, that's Roland and anyone else who claims to have inside info. To say we'll get them is somewhat presumptuous, as we've just seen us thinking we had Carlos and Lingard over the line before it all went to ****. Our bargaining power is minimal right now, it's money and nothing else.
Seems to be a lot of bed wetting going on. No wonder we, as fans, get the reputation we have. January is a tough month to do business, there's the ACON and then there's clubs evidently taking the piss. We will get there and, in the short term there might be a bit of pain, but we need to remember we are free from the shackles placed upon us by fat Mike and in 5 years time, all this will be a distant memory.
My comment was just a general one and not aimed specifically at you. Sorry if you thought it was aimed at you personally it wasn't even aimed at Roly specifically but yeah he's been at it..
No No Fella... we should have had Messi and Mbappe in the door by now as they will be desperate to trade the CL for the Championship..... surely....
So if Man Utd want a permanent deal for Lingard, how much is he realistically worth with less than 6 months left on his contract? £10m - £15m. Think they might just be starting a bidding war if I'm honest as they know other clubs will be interested.....whether they want to sell to them or not is a different matter. Would they accept an offer from us of £10m over a £15m-£20m offer from say the likes of West Ham whom they are battling with for league position? I think he will move in this window.....he ****ing needs to if he has any hopes of making it in to Southgates thoughts for his World Cup squad cos he sure as **** ain't gonna be getting much game time at Man Utd between now and then, albeit he will most likely be elsewhere come the summer anyways...he'll have a better chance having nearly a full year's worth of footy under his belt than 4 months tho.
With the 2 in already and Ramsay and Lindgard,I'd be happy with that and feel we'd have a chance, the £200grand a week merchants can wait till next summer!
All I'm saying is, it's an underwhelming start. Replaced the manager.....badly (imo). Removed Charnley.....and not replaced yet. Not that Charnley did owt, just stating a fact. Squad investment has been below expectation. Trippier above expectation, Wood significantly below. ANYBODY replacing Ashley was going to bring the buzz back, being at the games, removing signs, these are small details that are having zero impact on the fight against relegation. I'm just really annoyed that they appointed Howe, I think it's ****ed us and this season completely. And it means I've got to spend another portion of my life feeling annoyed at the manager of NUFC, I've spent 14 ****ing years doing that I didn't expect it to literally be the first thing going into a new era. It's just deeply irritating.
This is the only bit a lot of people see :- Hopefully when relegation gets added to that list so will the following :- Sold Shelvey Sold Hendricks Sold Fraser Sold Lascelles Painted the bogs
Yep. Folk need a reality check sometimes and to adjust their individual expectations. Me personally... I think we will go down.... come straight back up and at that point our club on and off the pitch will be 100% different. We'll have momentum, a plan, a new training ground, better bogs, a new academy structure and sustainable hope that the future is going to be a bright one. I trust our new owners and won't knee jerk. I also trust Howe and will judge him over 2 seasons once he's had a chance to shape his team. I'l still piss and moan about the players on a match by match basis as some of them I don't feel try hard enough.
This is why I'm baffled - selling those four after relegation is nigh-on impossible and not going to happen. Howe wouldn't want it to happen. There's this absolutely mystifying belief that we can get relegated into a garden filled with hope and rainbows, sell all our **** and buy a wonderful new squad. It doesn't happen. You'd just spend a year clinging on to your experience aiming to get promoted - at which point you're still not selling your **** players, and you're starting from being newly promoted. How is that a better scenario than being a current PL team just two wins from safety?! Boggles the mind. And, like McLaren and Bruce, nobody needs two years of Howe to work out if he's ****. He's just ****. End of.
What I will say is that of Howe had won the games he hasn't then nufc wouldn't be in the bottom 3 and signing players would've been easier. He's being allowed to hide behind the players which isn't the way it works or worked under previous managers
If he plays lacelles and the same crap in cm ie shelvey and or Longstaff on Saturday then I've had enough of howe already. Lacelles failed with 35 of 50 passes so if Howe hasn't noticed that then he's worse than I thought possible.. No pace in the striker No pace in either CM No pace in either cb Hmmm what could go wrong?
