    I watched a few minutes of Nadine Dorries before it became too painful. Live from the Apollo would have been quite apt.

    Tonight Cummings says he and others will give evidence under oath that Johnson lied to Parliament. This might not matter if the Met refuse to prosecute, except that the House of Commons itself and its committees can take evidence under oath, which could be terminal for Johnson.

    Revenge being taken at the moment when Johnson is almost down and out?

    Not as down and out as he’s left his country.

    Why did the PM say that the UK leads the world in vaccinating the population?

    The British Medical Association,
    @TheBMA
    , says removing all restrictions in England "will inevitably increase transmission" and "place the public at greater risk", adding that it risks a "rebound" of Omicron infections when "the NHS is still under crippling pressure".

    Should I believe a professional body such as the BMA, or a Prime Minister who is desperately trying to remain in post?

    Decisions, decisions. Mayor Khan has stated that masks are required on TfL regardless. Not that it gets enforced...:emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0127-lipss

    This afternoon on the M20. It has been reported that the queue is 17 kms long, and will take 6-8 hours from the time you join it to the time you board your ferry.

    You might decide to choose the tunnel instead. This is the queue for that.

    For some reason the M20 traffic cameras keep getting switched off.

    According to this article expect things to get worse.

    There was a report in the French news yesterday about a new variant that had been detected in the country, without saying actually what it was. Could well be the same thing. After a struggle to get the new law on covid passports through, it has finally been accepted, and although some restrictions are to be relaxed, many will continue. Certainly many unvaccinated people have now come forward as they will have to have a passport rather than a test to enter many events and places such as bars.

    Granddaughter still has covid following her five day test, so continues to isolate. Mother and two sisters have all received negative test results. The friends that granddaughter went out with have all succeeded in passing it on to their parents, so it is still around and spreads with ease.
