I think the point with keepers is that they are supposedly looking to catch or punch so are unable to use their arms to protect themselves when they jump whereas outfield players can. Yes obviously very subjective!
What year was that Jtc? My husband was taken by his dad and grandad to see the opening match at Boothferry Park in 1946. The following day was his 8th birthday.
Are you checking I'm not your husband? I'm just a nipper in comparison. Late 80s during the days of McEwan and Jobson.
To describe it as 'A decade of the Allam's misery' is pretty harsh in my view. It's been a rollercoaster ride,no denying that!! But are you seriously suggesting that you have no fond memories of a decade that included trips to Wembley, some of the finest players we've ever seen in our Clubs jerseys(And I go back to the Chilton/Waggy days) and one of the most prolific and well respected managers in the Country(Bruce) at the helm??? The Allams rightly deserve criticism for their lack of engagement with life long fans but to render their decade in charge as 'misery' just doesn't sit right with me. This forum is all about opinions sorry, that's mine.
Bruce Silva Adkins All three left of their own accord. Phelan and Slutsky were sacked. I can't think of another club where managers have continually walked away. When Bruce took us up Allam appeared to not want it, and we came down soon enough. The disappearance of the Bowen money to God knows where and the ensuing lack of investment and relegation. All the bollocks about the stadium, name changes, bannind R Humberside etc largely washes away any positives for me. Delighted they are gone and reluctant to see any sort of rewriting of history in the coming months now that we are eventually shot of the tyrants.
Getting served update bovril and a steak pie please mate bottle of Coors and a hot dog presented to me err no mate
Annoys me how over protected keepers are, they can jump into a player not trying to interfere and yet its the keepers foul. All you have to do generally is blow on them and the ref blows his whistle.
I thought it was a foul. In the same way as Billy Sharp did it to Greaves earlier in the season. That was missed by the ref. I also would have given the penalty. Bernard doesn't just use his shoulder. He uses his hip as well to push the man down. Having said that, the win was well deserved. One Rovers supporter put something like "Our unbeaten run gone to Hull. Embarrassing." It's not just the Prem teams that have entitlement.
East Stand Tannoy update, not working properly. Alleged penalty update, those that think it was, wear a ****ing blue and white shirt!
You forgot Nigel Pearson. And at a pinch Nick Barmby, whose smacking of the vice-chaiman must be considered a de facto resignation.
Looking at the absolute raft of really good chances we created. We could easily have had 6! Still, I’ll take 2-0.
