I can’t believe Blackburn could have gone 2nd in the league. I thought they were pretty **** in fairness.
Takeover or not, tonight’s result was always gonna happen. When the odds are tipped so heavily one way it’s always a solid recipe for an upset. We’ve been on the receiving end of that far too many times ourselves the last 15 years, used to call ourselves a charity.
Just finished watching a delayed live match recording. First time I have seen Hull City win for ages although I was one of the 18 who voted for the win! Well done! I thought the referee had a shocker and Blackburn wouldn't have scored if the match had gone on till midnight.
That was a lifesaver, got up at 2.30 to watch the game on ifollow, having checked with them earlier in the day that it would be available, only to find it wasn't. Your link saved the day, which was very good by the way.
That turned out to be the perfect night, the new owner who loves the game in place a great team performance, and 3 points. Reading got beat also, so 7 points clear of the trap door. Eaves, Williams and Honeyman were excellent, McLoughlin and Smallwood immense, great to see Smallwood prove to his old employer that he can perform at this level. Even though we got a tad lucky with the penalty call, they created very little. KLP should have scored and so should Longman, both missed relative sitters, so it could have been a lot better scoreline. Special mention for McLoughlin, who got himself in a great position to shield Eaves for his goal. A wonderful evening, the whole vibe around the place has changed, we can look forward to some optimism finally.
What a brilliant day yesterday was! The work ethic and desire the lads showed was absolutely immense. But we can't kid ourselves, we really lack quality and not just in the final third. As much as everyone says we have enough midfielders, we simply don't have the quality on the ball that other teams in this league do. There's an awful lot of work to be done, there's nothing on the bench to change games. Hopefully Acun will act as quickly as he said he will
Blackburns smash it in behind tactics worked in our favour I thought. We struggle against the the teams who play it on the floor a lot more with tricky wingers. Blackburns where very narrow and direct. Bar Bereton I can’t believe they are 3rd!
If Blackburn had lost 4-0 last night they couldn’t have had any complaints. I thought 2-0 flattered them a little bit. We passed off some great opportunities to add to our score.
Still can’t see how McLoughlin supposedly foul, his intention is clear granted, but both he and the keeper are secondary to that challenge, McLoughlin got there first, and the keeper equally jumps into him. If McLoughlin went down and Eaves missed would it have been a penalty? No.
‘‘Tis the morning after night before...what a brill performance, what a night, Turkish delight. In stark contrast to the Stoke offering, I feared the worst after Sunday, but the Honeymonster excelled again, McLoughlin coming into his own, and Eaves, outstanding, a revelation, winning the headers, holding the ball, amongst everything good. Yes, we had the rub of the green, but had the opposite so many times, well deserved. 3 points, 2 goals, win, new owners, dreamland. Thanks all for the well wishes for my little ‘sis, on other thread, Sod’s law she sat through the **** show Sunday, but couldn't make game last night. My only gripe, journey home, despite saying motorway was closed to J37, we followed part of re directions, but it was open further down, we rejoined from South/North Cave. But worth it. UTT.
Yeah. I've heard of this site before but never really used it. It went full screen on my fire cube browser really easily and hardly stuttered all match.
Yeah. People complain about keepers being too protected, but then seem to want a foul awarded against McLoughlin for daring to jump alongside the keeper. He doesn't make any movement towards him or do anything at all to him, just jumps next to him. He did look at the keeper which suggested an intent to disrupt, but he didn't actually end up doing anything to him.
