    We've got no midfield.

Bunch of forwards, bunch of defenders, nothing in between.

McTominay and Fred are absolutely ****ing ****e. ****e.

How bad must van de Beek actually be to not be able to get in this team??? Absolute madness.

Much better in the second half. McTominay played well after the break.

    Dalot though. Tremendous performance.

A win against a poor newly promoted side like Brentford doesn’t indicate we have turned the corner. Just symptomatic of our chaotic season. Pathetic first half. Better second half and would have been in trouble if Brentford had shown us less respect. Couldn’t yet again keep a clean sheet.

Once we got the first goal, Brentford's organisation at the back and shape just went, as they tried to chase the game.

Which then led to another 2 goals for us.

It goes to show, if you don't try you get nowt.

Our attacking football is so one-dimensional at 0-0.

There's some truth to this but you might want to look at their results against Arsenal, Liverpool, City and Chelsea at home.

We are a Jekyll and Hyde team. One half of absolute mediocrity and another half of effort and teamwork. Should the opposition take advantage of the dominance of their half we are in the ****. And we struggle to get the win. Currently no denying that on form we are a mid table team, struggling against battling sides around us and winning against bottom sides. Will we win the top 4 battle against West Ham? Not on current form.

It's incredible how we don't get enough players forward whilst at the same time leaving us completely short at the back. That's some skill that <laugh>

I'll list our faults in that first half as I saw them:

Soft as fck - got dispossessed easily, lost every 50/50 ball, Brentford players hungrier for the ball and in their closing down.

No creativity going forward so we resorted to lofting the ball in over the top. We still can't break down a team that is well organised defensively.

The central midfield is non-existent. NO WAY a midfield 3 of Fred, McT and Bruno gets anywhere against a better opposition.

    I can't see us getting Top 4.

No reason why we can't when you consider Arsenal were bottom of the league after 3/4 games and then got themselves in a position for Top 4 after the next 10 or so games. We're 7th so it's perfectly achievable.

But there's no direction. No consistency in our performances.

We really should be buying a midfielder in this transfer window.

We need to sell some first. We have a crowded bench. No point having ten midfielders and only two of them are trusted to start a match.

Thought we were really good second half actually.

Does the manager get any credit for that, or is all just 'the players' again?

Shame about the goal shambles, this is definitely a weakness. They were like my U12 & U16 teams in just standing watching the opposition pick up the loose ball and score, and not dealing with it themselves.

Lindelof is definitely the defensive weak link in this respect.

It’s going to take time to get the team organized again after smash n grab of three year. I hope that the board is now clear on who is going to be coming in as the boss and made all the right contacts. If the team can get back into good habits of playing as a team by the time the new boss comes in, we can buy strategically fill those holes at the back and midfield.

It all comes from the manager. He has to instill some team spirit. We need the players to pull in the same direction and to play from the same hymn sheet. This can only be drilled in the players on the training pitch. We have talented players but we seem to rely on moments of skill or errors. On talent alone we should be walking that 4th place but it’s looking unlikely unless we have a massive improvement in teamwork.
