Ollie Younger: Doncaster Rovers sign Sunderland defender - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60055259 Sad to see the youngun be sold on a permanent. LJ mustn't have fancied him?
Good luck to him. I quite liked him when I saw him, seemed a natural defender who was in the right place at the right time. Arguably deserved a chance last season but never got it. Even further away from first team now so he needs to go. At 22 he needs to be breaking into a team. Hope he has a good career ahead.
Didn't get enough chances imo. He should have played every cup game and papa John's games over the last couple of years. He will have a decent career I reckon, certainly in L1 but maybe lower championship
Personally I doubt it was just Johnson. I had high hopes for the lad but if he was available and a good prospect then a better lub than Doncaster would've take him. I hope he proves us wrong and does well for himself.
Like him when he played RB last season but he's too small to be a CB and I thought he was average in possession in the 2 games he played this season. Good luck to the lad, hope he makes a career out of it at Donny
Presumably so. Batth comes in for Alves and with Xhemajli close to a return Younger is deemed surplus to requirements. Best of luck to the lad, he's never let us down, seems an honest hard working lad and hasn't really had a fair crack of the whip. Hope he goes on to have a good career.
I reckon (when fit) Doyle and Arby are the 2 left CBs and wright and batth are the 2 right CB options. Huggins and T Hume RB, Cirkin and D Hume are the 2 LBs. Pompey may be in for Denver or they may be pissing about with us because we are playing them next. Looks to me like Flanno will drop down the pecking order which is a shame as I honestly think he has been excellent overall this season but pretty shocking last couple of games.
I'm sorry he, for whatever reason, couldn’t break through into our 1st team squad. The lad is a player with a lot of guts and heart. I hope the move works out for him, but he might have to move over to RB owing to his height.
gutted for the lad i along with a few others, had high hopes for him, should have been given the chance and a run but wasn't , our loss i feel
Never let us down and moving for games, suggests a good attitude. Probably not good enough for top of league one yet but young enough to improve. Hope he helps Donny get points off our rivals and goes on to have a good career. With Wright potentially out for a while could need another CB now. If there was a Willis type, quick and athletic, available that would be good alongside the physicality of Batth and Doyle’s ability on the ball.
He might have been just the lad for the problem defensive mid field slot , we will never know of course, but I will watch his career with interest.
