Since we got back to having a reasonable defence with proper defenders in their proper positions, its amazing how Raphinha has been able to show his talents again its even better as Klich and Dallas have been able to get their mojo back again. So we can do our stuff because we have a solid base again
I've though that - lack of a solid defence makes the midfield and forward line nervous. Some great one touch passing linking defence to mid to forwards yesterday.
I can see us in a months time asking when Forshaw will be back and someone saying “I thought it was only a minor tweak”
I wouldn’t say we looked completely solid at the back, West Ham scored two, had a goal disallowed after a worldie double save by Meslier. Dawson should have scored from a corner, Bowen should have equalised at the death. Thought we still looked vulnerable from corners and crosses into our box.
Rodrigo is NOT offside when the ball is struck by Klich ... measure back from the goal line and you'll see
As Milkyboy said: It’s amazing that one thing that has always been a fundamental of the offside law… that it’s the second last defender that counts (it’s just the last man is usually the keeper) is either unknown or forgotten by a huge proportion of fans who watch the game every week.
Ristac posted this earlier and you can clearly see all 3 of our players in front of Klich/the ball are offside.
If however West Ham's No' 10 had got even the slightest touch and he tried to, then the goal would have stood.
It was offside by the letter of the law. I think the questioning of “interfering with play” is that it was going in regardless of Rodrigo’s position, no West Ham player was stopping it. In fact it was more likely Rodrigo would have prevented Klich from scoring than any defenders.
Wow My Monday at work felt so much better with 3 points on the weekend. Sad as it sounds but it really was. Roll on next week and lets make it a trio of League wins on the bounce. Transfers I'm still hopeful we will bring some Midfielder in we have to it just wouldn't make sense to continue as we are. I don't worry about who's behind us in the league I'm just looking forwards my only focus is us and if we hit them 35-40 points no other teams matter. It's in our hands not others. Have a great week lads and lasses a new signing this week would be another fantastic boost.
Possibly mate, never expected any signings in this window. 30 points will be enough (probably less) for safety from relegation, a victory v Newcastle would put us on 25 points with fifteen games to go.
