it's not a 'deemed' interpretation thing unfortunately. If it hits him he's offside full stop. Last week's with Bowen was an interpretation. A very wrong interpretation.
Think the breakthrough for Bate was always seen as next season. This is his first season with us and being coached in Bielsaball. Bielsa was very taken with him though and has mentioned him a few weeks ago saying that Bate has energy, drive and can thread a pass he sees a pass before defenders see one. So injuries have excelled his breakthrough but think he has a bit to learn yet and next season will see him as the new Joffy who made it this season, his 2nd season with us
let's hope so, he looks like a boy at the moment... because he is a boy at the moment. I'd like to see a midfielder in in the window... and give Bate chance to mature/develop at the right pace.
I think Forshaws injury should mean we buy a midfielder now. If Forshaw had been okIld say wait, but we need someone who can do Phllips, Forshaw workload
Personally I'd love it if Marcelo would commit to one more year. With everyone fit and a really good summer transfer window, plus keep our top performers then we could make massive forward strides next season. The style is already there, we just need a bit more quality and then the swagger will come. Dreamland on a Monday morning...oh yes.
They'll certainly think the pressure is off. Still think they'll take a midfielder if one on their target list is available. There was a feeling that forshaw was the 'new signing' in the summer and saved them a few quid... but if his hamstring is anything more than a niggle ... then that might be his season.
Wolves has bought a new striker So the scores on the doors so far for our main competitors Wolves 2 new players Villa 2 Everton 3 Newcastle 2 Watford 3 Brighton 1
Yes and no. Firstly if Bielsa was saying we need a player for this position, then the club would go and do it. If Bielsa is apathetic towards getting anyone in at present, then this allows the club to look at the more realistic priced alternatives or just wait until summer. I do however think that maybe we have been waiting to see, if we need to spend our whole budget on a specific player to help with our ongoing season, or whether Bielsa is confident enough that what we have will see us through to the summer, dependant upon how recent results and recovery of players have gone. That then still doesn't preclude us signing more reasonable priced players (if they exist ) in January. Of course we also know that we have an affinity to leaving potential deals to as late as possible, so that we can't do anything about it if it goes wrong. It wouldn't be Leeds if we signed everyone we needed early in the transfer window, and even if we did, we would all still be on here towards the end of January wondering if we are going to sign anyone else
I wonder if that same incident happened at the other end would the goal have been chalked off. Letter of the law or not.
Last week VAR got it horribly wrong and it cost us. This week VAR got it right and it cost us. Welcome to Leeds United.
I said yesterday that one thing that hurt about yesterday was the glimpse of what might have been this season if we had had a fit squad all season. A year lost for the club, fans and more importantly the players
And Bielsa. Only a few more years left in his coaching career so every season affected by things which are beyond his control must be even more frustrating for him.
