By far and away the best performance today was by the band on the concourse before the match, they were excellent!
Clucas..... oh wait, I forgot he plays for Stoke now. McLoughlin, although he was out of position for the first goal, he made lots of important tackles and clearances. Baxter, some important saves to keep the score respectable Williams brought some energy and purpose with some decent crosses thrown in.
Poor performances across the board, to be honest. At a pinch... Williams - looked like a winger. Baxter - looked like a keeper. Lewis-Potter - looked like a picture of misery.
Smallwood - the difference when he came on was like chalk and cheese. Hudds can’t cut it as a starter I’m afraid. Williams - excellent. Should get game time ahead of Smith. McLoughlin - only one of the back 3 to play passably, and still had some dodgy moments. McCann bringing on Moncur for Docherty rather than Smallwood for Hudds was utterly bonkers.
1. Baxter 2. Eaves 3. McLoughlin Honeyman garnering votes beggars belief. Another four or five passes to one of theirs and he would have been eligible for a short-term contract with Stoke.
McLoughlin, lots of last ditch blocks Honeyman, ran around a lot Williams, good crossing Poor all round
Agreed about honeyman But still don’t get this love in with McLoughlin He kicked the ball out of touch straight from kick off Did it agin after their first goal He’s the free man ffs he should be making a block Usually after he’d ****ed it up
Baxter Eaves Williams honourable mention for Greaves for that tackle on Ian Wrights great great grandson or whoever he was
Fell asleep with about 15 mins to go and could have dozed off before then so will disqualify myself. Up to then I would have voted for McLoughlin, Smallwood and Williams.
All this chat from Huddlestone about the game and the need to give 100% is laughable given he was appalling on Sunday. He does not seem to be talking about his own performance!
