    Date - Sunday 16 / 01 / 22

    Venue - Anfield

    KO - 14 : 00

    TV - No

After that ****show tonight we move to Sunday when we face Brentford for their first League visit to Anfield in my lifetime . In our earlier meeting this season Brentford showed a willingness to attack and we showed a marked lack of defensive discipline and nous to lose a 2 goal lead . That early season form has rather dissipated and on Tuesday they were ripped apart by Southampton but they still look certain to still be in the PL next season .

clearly all the cobwebs will have been blown off here :bandit:

However we need to think about formations and how to get something out of this side for next 3 weeks.

    my issues:

    a) we cannot see our poacher jota stood 40 yards from goal doing nothing again. he has to be running into the box.
    b) we cannot have lightweights running away from goal (minamino)
    c) we cannot have midfielders ahead of the ball who cannot turn around so all they do is back pass. what is the freaking point lol
    d) someone needs to pull trent aside and tear strips off him. He cannot stand central giving the opposition a 1/3rd of the pitch to not defend. the second williams came on arsenal were stretched slightly more.

I just don't know what can get this team to perform at the minute cos we are wide open to a simple hoof forward here but look utterly incapable of creating.

That midfield trio can just not play together either.

Klopp has to do something different. 4-4-1-1 with Firmino behind Jota or something. Play Tsimiskas ahead of Robertson

It’s odd becUse clearly Klopp wants TAA more central because otherwise he’d be getting a bollocking for being central so much. It’s obviously a tactic that is working on and klopp sees as being beneficial. Now maybe with Salah and Hendo/Elliott it does work.

However as you say Neco then comes on and suddenly plays on the line and doesn’t come inside once. I know they have diff strengths, and Neco isn’t a playmaker kn that role, so klopp must have told him to go on and stay wide. In which case why not tell TAA to do that. It’s not like he can’t, he did it for 3 seasons before this one.

LFC record vs the big 6 & in the UCL, with Henderson & Milner playing 45 mins+ together in midfield, since the start of 2018/19

    PSG: W
    Napoli: L
    Chelsea: D
    PSG: L
    Napoli: W
    Man City: L
    Spurs: W
    Chelsea: D
    Napoli: L
    Napoli: D
    Atléti: W
    Chelsea: D
    Arsenal: D

    4 wins from 13 games.

If we're going to use these two donkeys in future, at least play them again sh*te opposition. I really do not know why Klopp trusts them in big games. It rarely works!

Also, expect the same toothlessness for the next month. Zero creativity from midfield (unless Klopp has balls and plays both Jones and Ox) and no pace in attack.

It simply doesn't work at all unless in broken play. Once a team is set its worse than useless.
    Sounds goooood. :)

What "it" are you referring to?
Williams created more opportunities in his 15 or so minutes than Trent did all game before, just by running at defenders and getting to the byline.
I don't know if Trent was still feeling under the weather or if it was tactical, but it was getting us nowhere.

    Our system, our plan a.

We very rarely score when a team has its lines set.

I agree, it could be fitness with trent.

But getting to the byeline and running onto ball is key.

Our chosen tactic v a set defense is 7 men up engaged against their defense, trent central doing nothing but watching while robertson is too high on the left and we ask the cbs to pass it in.

We need to stop getting ahead of the ball and work it wide like you say. Ball down the channel to run onto for robbo and trent is far more effective that 20 passes into people with back to goal to then fall over it and at best give it back to a cb.

Best we can put out, excluding Oxlade-Chamberlain. Should have started Williams so him and Jones could add width. Not looking forward to another 90 minutes of us trying to go through the middle and messing up every corner, but C'est La Vie

Jones in there is a start.

Henderson is lucky we are so ****/thin in the middle.

Chamberlain out wide never works, but can't be worse than Minamino. I would have played Tsimiskas ahead of Robertson personally
