I can't understand why Huddersfield have gone 5 at the back to try and sit on a 1-0 lead. It's all one way traffic now but of course we are open to a breakaway.
Got back about half an hour ago...long day leaving Swansea at 7am stopping for refreshments en route arriving at the ground just after 2....about 1200 Swans fans in attendance mostly in full voice but the team started slowly and with little idea allowing the home side control but only one goal for their superior early efforts.....from the 30 minute mark we started playing like the Brazil of old controlling the game without any success the home keeper making some good saves...pressure was bound to tell in the end and Downes got a deserved equaliser...should have done enough to win it at the end but there again a point...yet again quite a few youngish drunken yobbish types trying to be the big I ams.....why?
A good performance overall , but much to be happy about for the second half . More to add but just off out to watch a school boys game down in sunny Cefneithin.
Jamie Paterson was not involved in Swansea City's draw at Huddersfield Town on Saturday because he has told the club he is not in the right frame of mind to play. BBC Wales Sport understands Paterson, 30, is not happy with his contract situation. The forward has been one of Swansea's star performers this season, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances. But there are now doubts over his future at the Championship club. Swansea are not commenting on the situation, while BBC Sport Wales has contacted Paterson's representatives, Unique Sports Group, for comment. Paterson was a free agent when Swansea signed him in August 2021 him on an initial one-year deal, which included the option of an extra year. The Championship club took up that option earlier this month.h Paterson had been close to triggering an automatic extension, which would have happened when he reached 25 Swansea appearances. "We triggered the extension a little bit early so that's nothing to worry about now," Swansea head coach Russell Martin said on 9 January. Paterson is understood to have told Martin and sporting director Mark Allen last Wednesday that he is not currently ready to play. He has been a key figure in Martin's Swansea side having produced arguably the best form of his career this season, and has settled well at the Welsh club. Paterson was released by Bristol City at the end of last season and had a spell on trial with Middlesbrough in pre-season before Swansea signed him the day before the 2021-22 campaign began. With the January transfer window open, there are thought to be at least two rival Championship clubs interested in Paterson's services. Paterson, who earns considerably less than Swansea's highest-paid players, could potentially land a more lucrative contract elsewhere, although any interested club would need to pay a fee to secure his services. Paterson missed Swansea's FA Cup defeat to Southampton last week because of Covid-19, but he came out of isolation last Wednesday. Martin said after the Huddersfield draw that Paterson was still feeling unwell when he reported to Swansea's training ground on Wednesday and Thursday.
So if Paterson wants more money let him go...I am sure there are very few clubs that can throw money around and anyway who’s to say that he can succeed elsewhere as a player.....
I wouldn’t want to lose him but he came in on a free so maybe a we’ll make a few bob to bring in someone younger if not better
This has all the marks of his agent muddying the waters. Apparent Pato was happy to exercise the extension option but then suddenly is not happy. His agent has probably been canvasing other 'bigger' clubs who could offer him a better deal. But would he be a better player if he left!
He’s ‘underpaid’ compared to some of the players? Well, last Summer no one wanted him …. So he was happy to sign and accept the pay on offer, including the terms for the contract extension …. I suspect WBA rate him after his performance against them when we beat them 2-1. That said their Manager may not last this transfer window ….
