Other than the start of the 2nd half, that was not so good and pretty much more of the same that we have seen all too often (i.e. never looked like scoring - apart from the last 10 seconds on the break). That said, we did enough in a 2-minute period in the first half to get the goals and cling on to win the game
We did it. probably took 5 years off my life! I wondered if the added time was going to be 'until they score'!
Hanley was a rock, the players seemed up for it and were fighting more than I have seen previously recently
Horribly stressful, yep. Not great to watch although to be fair they never really troubled Krul. And we probably should have had a third across that Idah ridiculous chance from the pass back and Rashica at the end. But overall deserved and while it wasn’t confident hopefully it breeds confidence. And let’s hope my doctor diagnosis for Aarons was wrong because he was excellent.
I’m in the pub with the second baby to give my wife a break. Mine’s just gone to sleep. Might have to cradle this pint…
Let’s be totally honest, given how godawful we have been, that we’re in 18th and still a point off 17th (games in hand for others, sure) at this stage suggests there is a lot of appallingly bad teams in the Premier League
Sorensen and PLM worked hard in midfield covering ground. Idah was a real handful and gave us some drive through the middle that we have been missing. Hanley was a rock. Williams typically combative
Really wish Rashica could have tucked that away at the end but I thought the shot was the harder option
The Watford game becomes huge now. They're missing 4 players at the Africa Cup including Sarr. We should take confidence from this win and if we could draw or win that the whole season would look different.
After that I'm going to video the challenge on Krul just before the Everton goal, set up a Reddit account and then go to the Everton boards to demand they agree it was a foul then start abusing the Everton posters . Or maybe just enjoy the rare win
