The rugby clubs get about 18 -20,000. An easy option for a bit of reflected glory even if it is through being big fish in a puddle. Those people would be more likely to be at football if there were no rugby clubs. Only a third of those going to football would improve City's crowds considerably. In football only cities they don't have other options, the football club represents the city. They don't support another sport and adopt a football club from elsewhere to be part of conversations about the most popular sport.
Do you mean combined attendance?? The home crowds are no where near that, not even close
20 years? There were coaches of Reds departing for Liverpool and Manchester back in 1970. And Hull Whites. An organiser of some of those coaches ended up as a fans liaison officer at City a few years ago. We have always had fickle support going up and down like a yo-yo.
Yes, 18-20 ,000 watching rugby who would have to go to City to watch a local team if there was no alternative.
Funny enough that was the combined average, 12,000 FC, Rovers 8,000 = 20,000 they had in the season when 60,000 rugby mad fans who had never missed a game for decades descended on Wembley.
Most of them will be happy to see running clean water and magic lights that shine brightly once every fortnight.
As far as I'm aware we have no new players training with us yet. But I can't say with 100% certainty
OK, curious as I am, I just happened to do a brief check of the current population of Hull, approx 320k, that's without the outer lying areas of the city. Think even with the removal of the sad 18-20k of egg chasers, we have more then enough to encourage a few back. The opening of the then KC, coupled with an astute and fan friendly chairman mananaged to sell out the stadium in the lower tiers (oh how I recall that Swansea game well and the atmosphere), so while the Hull City fans are fickle creatures there are endless opportunities to build a good fan base, and a lifelong support.
Sadly the Allams' tenure could and should have done that once more, but instead their petty mindedness and selfish approach has lead to them being loathed, it's lead to many fans becoming disenchanted with the club knowing all roads lead back to the Allams pockets.
This new potential owner seems to be wanting to build a team again, not only on the pitch, but as a city. I for one can't wait for the new journey to begin, a d see were it takes us. I also suspect.many feel the same, which in turn will bring in more fans, and bring about the feel good factor. The egg chasers can stick to their minority sport for all I care, but I don't go along with this thought that their crowds adversely effect ours.

With regard to the Rugby league side of things being from West Hull I went sometimes to Hull fc games as a young lad , I soon realised when announcements were made over the the tannoy that City were losing the Threepenny stand cheered .
That pissed me off

Would find this surprising if players are being lined up to be announced as soon as the takeover is done.
Who has said they are going to announced as soon as the takeover is complete? I know things are going on behind the scenes to have things move very quickly re players when the sale is done, but I don't think there is going to be an announcement re the club and players together.
If it's me that's given that Impression then I'm sorry as that wasn't my intention
Baz and other articles have suggested that players are being lined up; Grant himself said he was hoping to have 1-2 signings done before Stoke (unlikely now). Everything was suggesting that moves were very close to completion and just waiting on the takeover.
Baz is correct, players are being lined up and have been for a while, but whilst we are in this middle ground/state of limbo it's a little more difficult to do anything concrete re incomings. Tan has a complete list of targets for both this window and summer. But things can only go so far in regards to getting them in and most of it has to be unofficial as they technically don't own the club... The sooner it happens the better for all concerned

For me personally yes the sooner the better, but the vast majority of moves in Jan happen right at the end so we still have the time. Once things can happen officially, they will happen quite quickly imo
Stating the obvious but this takeover needs completing asap! Already 14th Jan, lost JM, and MW out for now. There's a bit of 'feel good' around ATM, but the FACT is, we are in a relegation battle as things stand, and a key injury / suspension or two away from big problems.
