I used to ride The Wild Mouse at Butlins, Filey!
Was on it once when a car came off the rails. Butlin's managed to keep that one pretty quiet.

Agreed. I think it flatters the RL clubs to be honest, to say that they're responsible for City not having big crowds. Given that they play a minor sport but are still the most major sporting alternatives to City for miles in any direction, I'd say we're in a pretty great position to have bigger crowds. The lack of success at the times when football boomed into what it is now, are probably the biggest reason.
Still, it's never too late. You look at Brighton and the crowds they've built up after not even having a ground for however many years. It's not easy but possible. Hopefully Acun will have the energy and ideas needed, and isn't just planning on selling NFTs...
The rugby clubs get about 18 -20,000. An easy option for a bit of reflected glory even if it is through being big fish in a puddle. Those people would be more likely to be at football if there were no rugby clubs. Only a third of those going to football would improve City's crowds considerably. In football only cities they don't have other options, the football club represents the city. They don't support another sport and adopt a football club from elsewhere to be part of conversations about the most popular sport.
Is it feasible to blame poor crowds on that when over a century has passed since? I think it’s more down to the consistently poor performance for 20 odd years which saw many attach themselves to ****e like Liverpool and Leeds. There will be a knock on effect from that as many of those will have brought kids up to be plastic ****e too. If performance remains similar to the last 20 years things will improve going forwards I’m sure.
Do you mean combined attendance?? The home crowds are no where near that, not even close
Look at their crowds compared to ours over the past 15 years. On what basis do you come to that conclusion?
They may want her out but they still all their season tickets and still turn up every game. Wish we could say the same.
Most of them will be happy to see running clean water and magic lights that shine brightly once every fortnight.
If someone had the time and patience (mods?), to count the relevant posts on this thread, how many pages and posts would it total?
Who wants first guess?
For the record this post counts as 'non relevant'.
It seems very strange to me that I keep being right, that we're not for sale, but these other ITK types keep being wrong.
Oh well, it's a funny old game...
I knew it.I'm Angry should be I'm high on acid.
McCann said he'd spoken to two players who were intending to sign which would suggest they're most likely at the club, as well as numerous people saying that there are signings just waiting the green light of the takeover being confirmed.
As far as I'm aware we have no new players training with us yet. But I can't say with 100% certainty
Would find this surprising if players are being lined up to be announced as soon as the takeover is done.
Who has said they are going to announced as soon as the takeover is complete? I know things are going on behind the scenes to have things move very quickly re players when the sale is done, but I don't think there is going to be an announcement re the club and players together.
If it's me that's given that Impression then I'm sorry as that wasn't my intention
Baz and other articles have suggested that players are being lined up; Grant himself said he was hoping to have 1-2 signings done before Stoke (unlikely now). Everything was suggesting that moves were very close to completion and just waiting on the takeover.
Baz is correct, players are being lined up and have been for a while, but whilst we are in this middle ground/state of limbo it's a little more difficult to do anything concrete re incomings. Tan has a complete list of targets for both this window and summer. But things can only go so far in regards to getting them in and most of it has to be unofficial as they technically don't own the club... The sooner it happens the better for all concerned
Looks likely to be next week now which starts to get quite concerning. Any sense from anyone on what the hold up is?
