Yep, it is. The fault entirely lay with the massive gap between our back four and midfield when the ball was pinged up long and Antonio knocked it down, they were in behind our midfield in numbers.

    Dreadful defending.

We can't have any complaints tonight. We have not been as crap as we have been in other games but still far from being anywhere near good enough

Let’s be honest, the score line flatters us. We’ve been appallingly bad defensively and despite one or two sparks haven’t really threatened with any consistency.

The change of manager and playing style has been a disaster. We do not have a team suited to structured play.

West Ham probably wont have an easier match all season, we essentially allow the opposition training matches - regimented, repeated, predictable attacks to help them understand how to defend, along with nice big gaps defensively and players out of position to give them plenty of shooting practice.

I can’t see us getting many more points this season, we are so bad.

Time to focus on the FA Cup.

The flip side is that ok we’ve lost six matches in a row, but four of them were against the top seven in the league. The problem with that analysis is we rolled over and had our belly tickled in each of those matches and then actually looked even worse in the matches against Palace and Villa.

No sign of any January reinforcements either.

Smith’s win against Southampton looked lucky at the time, it’s now looking like we just got incredibly fortunate on the day.

In terms of team performance, this is getting close to that of the relegation season to League One. Some might argue that we have gone beyond that now <laugh>

A decent enough performance against the 4th place team. We don't have the money to compete with the top teams but there were some positives with 7 shots 3 on target and their keeper was lucky to deflect Idah's shot on to the post. At last Adam looked the part and I can see what he might bring for the rest of the season, especially as an outlet down the left flank with the ability to get in behind.

Rashica also continues to show promise and his close control set him apart. Williams also did well and we did have some good moments against a good team. Rowe again seemed very much at home when he came on and looks to have great potential. We desperately need Normann back though. I have more hope for Everton at home now and Watford away.

Relatively speaking, definitely worse this season. It’s easy to remember the horror show towards the end of 2009 under Gunn senior, but we won 12 matches that season - we also lost 24 which is what relegated us, but mostly by a single goal and only half a dozen by two goals, none by more than that. We only got relegated in the second last match of the season. We scored more than a goal a game and had a goal difference of -13. We had some big wins. The equivalent so far would be more like Everton or Leeds results this season.

Not shambolic, but still a long way from remotely good enough to stay up. Rashica was very disappointing after the comeback performance against Charlton. Omo should come back in as soon as he is fit at the expense of Gibson. Hanley did OK, I thought. Like many others, I'd make Idah the MOM. He's not a lucky guy, is he? - just think how that goal would have boosted his confidence. From that performance, I'd definitely say he has earned the right for a run in the team at the expense of Sargent. God knows how we get back the Tzolis who played against Bournemouth.

I admire your positivity Rick, Smith is quite honest in the interview and said the effort was better but we weren’t good and got beaten by the better team, end of.

He explained Sargent out was due to his wife giving birth.

Cantwell he claimed was still ill and didn’t train yesterday so wasn’t fit to start.

Idah had cramp in his calf and asked to come off so that is a decent enough explanation.

    That was rubbish.

I turned up tonight expecting at best a 2-0 loss. Which is exactly what we got.

Idah hit the post, which is more than I thought he was capable of doing.

    Rubbish.

After the dust has settled West Ham deserved the win VAR was used well and Idah looks like he belongs in the team, we offered nothing when he went off.

Gibson looks like a weak link and Kenny had another very ordinary performance.

All our hopes are put on Normann returning but it's a huge ask .

Some creative magic in the transfer market may improve our chances of survival but it's a long shot .
6 games without a goal is concerning
