Anyone watching? I can’t believe anyone has made up the rule that Kane was offside for his goal. It’s ridiculous he was offside because there’s only one defender between him and the goal
And the goal keeper came rushing out.... maybe this is what coaches are teaching... if you come out to punch it and miss it, carry on running forward...
This has always been the rule, hasn’t it? I remember outrage in a World Cup not long ago for a similar situation.
It’s a bonkers rule, keeper gets caught out, defender runs round to cover the goal and Kane is offside. It’s nuts
Has it? I always understood it to be two opposition players, irrespective if one is the keeper. If I've got it wrong, it could explain a commentator questioning if a player was off-side for a goal on game I watched recently, where the striker had pinged it passed the keeper, and then jumped over the defender in front of him. I just assumed the commentator was a cretin.
Yeah, that’s what I mean. The rule is that there has to be two opposition players. A lot of people assume that one has to be a goalkeeper.
I’ve missed this rule, so the Chelsea keeper gets caught out, ball breaks to Kane. There’s a defender between him and the goal but Kane’s offside. I’m lost with this one
The rule stated "second last defender" which usually included the goalkeeper, but doesn't have to. Unless it changed in the last 10 years.
I'd say, based on this, Kane was off side. It's right near the end of the vid (7 min) if it doesn't start at the right point.
I just don’t understand how the keeper gets away with losing the ball and there’s a defender on the line. If a defender does a short backpass and striker nips in and goes round the keeper and scores. That’s not offside or if that incident happens 30yards up the pitch and cb loses the ball and they go on and score....no offside
Football used to be simple. Far too many stats, rule interpretations, substitutes, tactics, formations, shirts, numbers, names that you can't pronounce, managers that can't (or won't) speak English. It does my ****ing head in. I'm glad I got that off my chest. Happy middle of the week towards the weekend day to you all.
Stop thinking of premier league football as a sport and consider it a drama, which is basically what it is these days.
Christ were you born such a miserable **** or was it something that happened to you Can see why I get so bored of reading this forum.
