Cirkin worth every penny. The lad is a proper player. We'll do well to hold on to him if the worst happens and we don't go up
Why was this lad not on the bench when we had young kids from the U23's and others called back from playing in lower leagues.
1 point out of 6... should we have postponed these two games if possible? Have we gambled and lost... Waiting would have meant more players back from covid/injuries and perhaps some new players... ie a striker?
A 'free transfer' doesn't mean that there is no financial commitment. On top of wages, there will have been signing on fees and agents fees. I believe free transfers are often used as an excuse for agents to get the signing on fee bumped up. To attract the likes of Pritchard and Cirkin we must have been competitive in the financial compensation stakes. On top of all that, we've been able to attract the likes of those two players as well as players like Hoffmann and Dajaku who wouldn't have looked twice at us under the previous owners. There's value in that; that's the benefit of having an owner like KLD.
Can always pick up the odd gem on a freebie but reason we got him is bescuse he’s made of marzipan, much like Evans.
Yep, for Will Grigg. Who was both a panic signing and a vanity signing by an incompetent owner. Worked out brilliantly, didn't it? Our new owner has demonstrated already that he won't waste money on poor signings.
Have they? We’ve only spent fees on two players. One of which hasn’t even kicked a ball for us. We need to get up this season as we can’t afford another season of this utter rubbish.
Not sure what point you are trying to make. The owner has invested money on and off the pitch, that much is clear. Our recruitment has been streets ahead anything seen in the last few years and we are reaping the benefits on the pitch. We have paid fees (whether transfer or loan) for almost every signing and the free transfers we have picked up have been effective (Pritchard far more so) Yet people still twist
Using the worst example to try and support your point? Don't recall seeing your posts when we went on an unbeaten run. Personally think your on the wind up.
To be fair, the signings that our new lot have made are all decent and are first team signings. However, there comes a time when money needs spending and I think we need a couple of big signings this window. Not loan fees or signing on fees but hefty transfer fees for players currently doing well in their teams at this moment. We can only go so far on loans and freebies. Time to spend. We only need 2 or 3 because our squad is good but those 2 or 3, if they are quality players, will give us automatic promotion in my opinion. As soon as we started last night I could see we were ‘off’ with the sideways and backwards passing and the slow pace. It was the best team LJ could have picked with what was available but it looked like somebody had spiked their drinks as they were really ponderous apart from a 10 minute second half spell.
I will be making no comment on last nights game as I fear I may self combust. PS, except to say the useless f*cking c*nts.
He’s invested very little on the pitch. You’re saying our recruitment is far better yet here we are In a dog fight to get out of this god awful league. I personally think it’ll be lottery of playoffs for us.
Last night was just a bad night, people arguing next to me and everything, just a bad atmosphere in and around the ground
