There's a lot of good games coming in their tournament in the knockout stages but there's a lot of mismatches in the initial groups. Egypt just ain't very good in reality. Hence the 1.5 players comment.
Tunisia v Mali in #AFCON2021 - Two Penalties given with VAR check - 7substitutions - Ref blows the whistle for full time on 85 min. - Restarts the play. - Sends off a Mali player in 87th min. - VAR tells the ref it's not a red. - Ref rejects the VAR decision. - Ref blows again for full time on 89.40min The Referee has been suspended before for corruption allegations
Was just seeing about this. Coverage here isn’t great so didn’t get all the details but saw he blew after 85 mins then blew again 10 seconds short and saw there was a pen and red card. Immediately corruption springs to mind underohnately although if he’s banking on a Mail win, sending off the Mail player seems risky.
Seems like he was covering his tracks with the sending off. Unfortunately, he didnt account for close to 10 mins of extra time. Madness!!! He has been involved in suspect games as shown by his prior suspension.
Surely stupidity more than corruption though? I mean, if you're trying to secretly help a team win, surely you're not going to do something as obvious as deliberately blowing 5 minutes early?
The 85 minute seems to be because they went off for a drinks break and tbh ink he forgot to stop his watch. I can get that, your watch says 90 then you blow the whistle. But to then do it again having played no injury time, no explanation. You’d think maybe the 3rd official could have had a word if he genuinely thought the game was over then.
Commentator says Lukaku is denied by "a Sprawling Gollini" Sounds like some exotic Australian wildlife.
Looks like Rüdiger a better striker than Werner at the moment. And sounds like VAR has had a good game for once. The ref less so...
Another two goals for Bowen tonight as well. He's pricing himself out of a move to us Edit: Plus had one ruled out and hit the woodwork twice. It is only Norwich though.
