Think Appleton has Johnson's sussed, he's not the greatest manager / coach but knows enough and Johnson didn't have a plan B. Then again he didn't have a central midfield or defence either . Never mind, bad day at the office on to Saturday and hopefully a decent performance.
It was just so flat. I can only assume it caught up with everyone, I mean covid and injuries. Looked to me like they were running on empty. Very tired passes and tracking. Got a lift with the penalty but I dont think they could have sustained it personally against 11. I was apprehensive ahead of Wycombe because we had opted to play. That was a hell of a performance. Tonight it might have been an ask too much. Hope we dont look back and ask what if we hadnt played. I wonder if we will play Saturday now? Arguably could do with a reset. Really disappointed to see Johnson getting dug out on here tonight. Seems like some are waiting to have a reason to call him out and jump at it soon as possible. I have even seen streaky tag mentioned again. One loss in 10 is it? Have a look at the points haul and goals scored in 2021. He has faults but, not least his unedifying behaviour on the touchline at times (I hope someone reminds him about standards), but his style of play and the team he is putting together, are on the right track for me.
Johnson won’t be here at the start of next season. Another failure and his position will be untenable. I think we’ll make playoffs but it’s a lottery once there and Johnson has already shown his lack of nerve in that format.
Whilst you are of course welcome to your opinion I feel that it is too early to start thinking along those lines. The season will be full of twists and turns, still plenty of games to go and plenty of points to pick up.
Actually missed Wright at least he’s got a bit of steel and authority we’ve got a soft under belly both in midfield and defence when things are going well we are a joy to watch but when they aren’t we fall apart and no one takes responsibility. Man of steel needed in midfield and a change needed at the back Not sure what maybe go with a three
That may well be the case, but I was also thinking back to the play off game at our place where we played them off the pitch first half then a couple of tactical changes by Apppleton and the game went away from us
You’re name says it all. Every miserable pessimistic bugger I know claims to be a “realist” If you were a realist you would have been on here commenting on the fantastic performances lately but you’re not you just come out of the woodwork to spread you’re negative pessimism when we have a bad day at the office. Realist my arse
Wright has been brilliant recently, and completely proven me wrong. We have missed him last two games, no doubt about it.
we've been beaten by naivety, thats the most annoying bit. While half the football league opted to use Covid to postpone a game or two, we decided to do the honourable thing and play our fixtures, with a speech from Speakman about integrity blah..blah...blah. We had a lot of genuine covid cases, and some injuries ( a lot more genuine cases than some clubs) and we should have taken the opportunity, especially after a busy christmas and new year, to pull out of one game at least, to rest and recharge and yes maybe get another body in, but instead we went for the glory, and its bitten us on the arse, 1 point instead of 6. You're absolutely right about tonight, we were running on empty, and now we've picked up a load of cards out of sheer frustration. Appleton and Maguire had our pants down tonight, but we gave them a free shot.
Bad result for us. At least most of you can drown your sorrows, get pissed and sleep it off, it's 8:15am here and my day started nearly 2 hours ago, it's going to be a long one - coffee is going to get a belting that's for sure. Onwards and upwards, I have been here countless times before with this Club - take care all.
Needs a big shock that. It was coming. I felt it internally. Lazy prep. Chris Maguire enjoyed it. Fair play to him. Got bumped from LJ.
