and NUFC buy him via installments as most transfers are these days. Burnley have no money so could be sweet!
Yeah I think it was three or four years. Better starting point of course. They also did bang in 100m worth of signings in their first full summer. They hoovered up all the domestic talent. That was directly after spunking loads in the previous Jan. Then you had the Agueros, Nasri, Toures etc arrive. I could see us finding it more difficult due a difficult starting point, but survive this season it’ll start to open us for us. I trust these guys. I didn’t really want Wood but he’s a useful short term signing. They are clearly serious. Adding experienced PL players with an eye on the future if we can’t get out this hole. Looks sensible.
Final snippet which I'm taking as a pinch of salt coz is from a less than 50/50 ratio is Krull coming home.
**** it, if we spunk £50m - £80m on some desperation signings to ensure our premier league survival then I’m all in. Pretty sure that’s what we’ve been lambasting Ashley for not doing for last god knows how many seasons. We are 2 months in to a massive project which could last for years, there’s plenty time for marquee signings once we have the structure in place and have commercial income from aramco and such like.
If you mean when I said he was apparently underwhelming, I was meaning to any fans who may have been dreaming of signing Mbappe and his like in the runup to this window. Like I said, this could prove far more important a signing than any of the big names who come in later.
It's proof that money is no object for us now, 25 million for Wood ffs I'm not even unhappy, it's a decent/good signing.
Nah I’ve got zero time with people jumping off the deep end after 96 days. It’s just complete and utter bollocks
