Taarabt expects new PSG bid But QPR playmaker claims Leonardo has concerns over attitude By Patrick Haond. Last Updated: October 24, 2011 10:29am The maverick Morocco international was targeted by the Ligue 1 club over the summer only for the proposed move to break down. Taarabt claims that the concerns of PSG sporting director Leonardo over his temperament led to the planned switch falling through and fears the same issue could arise in the winter window. The 22-year-old feels he is still wanted by the French outfit's wealthy owners, the Qatar Investment Authority, but accepts the former AC Milan and Inter Milan boss may have the final say. Taarabt told Canal+: "He (Leonardo) called Flavio Briatore, but the first thing he said was: 'OK, but there is Adel's temper...' "Flavio just replied: 'It is up to you to know how to manage it. We could manage it last season he helped us back into the Premier League.' No illusion "That is just an excuse from Leonardo not to sign me because he had other priorities. He preferred (Jeremy) Menez, (Javier) Pastore and even wanted Ganso. "The Qatar officials told me 'Do another great six months and in January we will be back'. "However, I am under no illusion. I know I am not Leonardo's priority." Taarabt admits his head has been turned by the possibility of leaving Loftus Road for the French capital, but hinted that some parts of the fixture list were less than enthralling. "Paris makes me dream, but there are only four big matches to play against Marseille, Lyon, Lille and maybe Rennes," he added. "Without being disrespectful, playing at Evian or Dijon would not be very exciting." iReader http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11711_7263011,00.html
Well, his strops at Fulham and yesterday are really gonna add to his value and persuade potential buyers aren't they? I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the bench at Tottenham if he continues his childish antics, the sooner he's off the better for all concerned, although there's more chance of him ending up at Macclesfield than Madrid!
his inflated ego will hold him back,he needs to get a grip on the prenier league or he will end up playing in the stiffs, many a player who thought he was bigger than the team has ended up playing in the lower leagues, you only have to look at Bentley he ended up on loan at west ham and you cant get much lower than that.
QPR manager’s joy tempered by a familiar problem - QPR - London 24 Adel Taarabt QPR manager’s joy tempered by a familiar problem Ian Cooper Monday, October 24, 2011 10:42 AM Warnock unhappy with Taarabt reaction Neil Warnock admits he was ‘disappointed’ with Adel Taarabt’s angry reaction to being substituted in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Chelsea. The Morocco international was visibly frustrated to being replaced by Tommy Smith on the hour-mark, disappearing straight down the players’ tunnel, and Warnock conceded he was unhappy with the midfielder. “I was disappointed, I had a chat with him went I went on the pitch afterwards,” said the Rs boss. “It’s not about Adel, it’s about the team. “Yes, he’s disappointed, but as I said to him beforehand it would have been easy for me to play Jamie Mackie today and leave him on the bench. “I decided to play Adel [Taarabt] because I thought he could so some damage as well rather than just have two lads working up and down. “We wanted to be creative when we got the opportunity. It’s limited with Chelsea, so we decided to play him in there rather than just work the full-backs and get beat anyhow. “He’s got to understand it’s a team game. He’s a little kid, he takes his toys home, but I thought he did alright today.” Follow Ian Cooper on Twitter @QPRTimes iReader
Me thinks he could be worried with January coming up and NW getting in some new players. He needs to sort out the attitude or p-off.
what is his problem? I really don't get it! I'd rather have 10 faurlins or derrys than 1 brat at this stage. why can't he just play without it turning into a drama every single time.
Maybe once he is gone your 1 man team will be exposed for all it is and you will be relegated by March
Half term??? Adel does have the ability to turn a game and can play a great pass(swp yesturday) he also takes 2/3 defenders with him when we are on the attack, BUT he is waistfull and petulant. The question is does the good out weigh the bad?
Liverpool 18+5...I would be more concerned about you team failing to score more than 1 against Norwich when you spent £50 mill on TWO strikers...
Lets be honest folks, if PSG stump up the cash for Taarabt I’ll eat my hat. Don’t get me wrong, I love Taarabts skill and although his strops annoy people I think it is good that he is passionate (albeit in a kind of 8 year old being told to go to bed kind of way)
Adel has one big problem. He is immature and will probably never "grow up". Whilst he could be very successful at football it will never happen. He doesn't act like a petulent teenager, he acts like a petulent primary school kid. If his "people" (the ones that take a nice slice of his money for advising him) are not careful they could kill the goose that lays golden eggs for them. Adel will never take on board more than a tiny bit of what Warnock and others have to say because he believes that he knows best and that anyone who doesn't agree with him is being nasty to him. His adivisors/management seem to be the type that will agree with everything he says and try to get him whatever he wants because they want to make money out of him. If they disagree then he will find someone else. Although he has more talent that the majority of players I do not believe that he will ever achieve his potential. It has happened to others before and it will happen to him. He will move from club to club and never fit in. I can see him at 35 jogging around a football field trying all his tricks and scoring some crackers, but it will be for a 3rd level French team. He will have a massive chip on his shoulder and will say that nobody really gave him a chance because they didn't like him. It won't have anything to do with his attitude. It won't have anything to do with the fact that he won't train properly. He will always think like a ten year old and to hope that he will grow up is clutching at staws. He'll be just the same, inside his head, when he is 60.
Agree Eamon, he can't seem to grasp the concept of a team game. And I'd say his price tag is falling since the Summer.
I thought Adel did well the first half or so yesterday, but then he started going too far with the back heels and really risked losing the ball in dangerous situations, when mostly all we we needed to do was play keepball and make Chelsea chase. Think he made most of the the bad decisons Colin referred to and that was probably why he got subbed, and because he ain't fit enough.
As we all said, he could get away with it in the Championship but never in the Premier League. If he was producing the goals and assists it could be tolerated but he isn't and is fast becoming a liability as well as a pain in the arse with his strops. PSG wouldn't touch him with a bargepole on current form...
Let's just hope he turns it on against Spurs,he must have a point to prove to Redknapp for letting him go!
Well said Eamon I really hope he reads your opinion It may help or as you say would he listen, I doubt it!
Thing is what Adel can do not many players can - even if he cuts open the opposition just once or twice in the game it can win it for us. Yesterday he created the situation for SWP which got the Cjhelsea player sent off. Man United need a player like him right now. Keep on chucking the toys Adel it may just keep you with us.
