If Rafa wants Longstaff then we have an ace up our sleeves I reckon....no more than a straight player swap for me like. Personally I'd put Longstaff in the £15m-£20m bracket but given the fact that Rafa was turning down £50m approaches from Man Utd for him and that he's being a **** trying offer £1m for him I'd go in with a straight player offer and see what happens.

 

Lets be honest here, what Rafa has offered us for Longstaff i.e - £1m - is quite possibly 4 times more than he's worth

 

So

1. We have signed Trippier.

3. We have increased bid for Carlos

4. We are the supposed destination for Ramsey

I remember the summer we signed Beasant, Thorn, Hendrie and Robertson and thought that was ****ing mint. We got pumped 4-0 by Everton in our first league game when the season got underway.

Robertson failing here is still one of the biggest mysteries to me in all my time as a fan. He banged them in for Hearts at a time when Scottish football was genuinely a good competitive league, came here and couldn't hit a barn door, and then went back after a few months here to Scotland and picked up where he left off!

This is going to be an interesting month. Botman and Carlos would be great to see. Digne too. Then if we just go get say Kamara and Gini for midfield. Maybe Lingard. Then a couple of strikers. I reckon we might stay up .

What about that kid at Arsenal who isn't getting a game. Nketiah - he could be a useful option to have. Out of contract in the summer.
