Jim Pickard clearly a bit desperate to have a good old moan about the Tories.

Cutting VAT would obviously benefit those with the largest fuel bills; however, if the price of gas is rising steeply the effect of that price cut will be short lived. Of course the lost tax revenues would have to be replaced by more debt or fewer public services but everyone seems quite happy with uncontrolled debt because inflation is just transitory.

Were we still in the EU, the price of gas would be no different since it is a commodity that is being traded on an international market. The West generally has allowed itself to become hostage to Russian gas supplies because of its failure to diversify its fuel supply sources. Here in the UK we have ground to a halt on shale gas provision because of tree huggers and made virtually no progress on expanding our nuclear provision. When the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine, the lights will go out.

Labour and Liberal initiative, opposed all the way along by the Tories.

Googling something then reading only the nonsense that suit your prejudice, is not “research”

The original founding charter of the NHS was drawn up by Liberal William Beveridge, whose 1942 Beveridge Report recommended the introduction of a social insurance scheme that would provide a basic level of health provision whilst allowing those that wanted it to pay for additional provision. So neither Labour nor the Conservatives can claim to be the originators of the NHS.

The wartime National Government coalition postponed turning that report into a white paper. When the idea was before Parliament in 1943, Labour voted against it.

After the Labour Party won the 1945 general election, they implemented key parts of the Beveridge Report by introducing National Insurance and the National Health Service. However, Labour opposed Beveridge’s idea of local and regional health administration so we are lumbered 70 plus years later with a wasteful behemoth that is not fit for purpose. Labour ideologically opposed the idea that everyone would get a basic level of service that could be supplemented by those that wished to pay for more, so the myth of “free for all at the point of use” healthcare was born. The successful healthcare systems of many other countries are much more like what Beveridge proposed.

For the last 70 years the Tories have been supposedly privatising the NHS. Strange that in the 1980s when they managed to get rid of all the nationalised inefficient services, Mrs Thatcher never sold off the health one. Of course the Left desperately cling to their myth because they have nothing really useful to contribute to any debate.

I just had the latest terrifying virus that put the World on it's knees , also known as seasonal flu and defeated it with orange juice .

If it was Omnicorn then I'm immune from the next mutant variant.

It's fear and mass brainwashing of the low IQ that keeps this covid bollocks going.

Once again you demonstrate the value of a degree in epidemiology from the University of Facebook.

You will not be immune from “the next mutant variant”. This is why the annual NHS winter crisis comes around every year because last year’s influenza vaccine will not necessarily be effective against this year’s mutant variant. Will you be having a different type of orange juice every year?

When it comes to low IQ, it is probably the only thing on which you are a leading authority. Most of the great unwashed are in the same club.

Hey, they’re getting the important things right

Do you think the muzzys would groom Pompey or do you think they can tell he is a trans woman*

* You cant change your sex, its impossible

That is true in the sense that trans people cannot reproduce. However around 1% of births are what is considered to be " intersex" I.e. It is pretty nigh impossible to tell at that stage what the sex is. It seems logical in those cases to assign gender at a later stage.

When I trained to be an accountant I started off on easier stuff and had my work reviewed. By the time I was in charge of jobs I had plenty of training and experience.

Any twat that can add up can do accountancy. I was running a business with £1m a year turnover at 32 and just did it all myself. All it requires is a quick swot up on what you can and can't claim for and then doing basic sums. Clearly it's beyond most Tory voting small businessmen most of whom can't think their way out of a paper bag.

How did you go from a business turning over one million a year to bragging about your woman claiming a couple grand a month from her dead husbands pension?

Sorry about your downfall <rose>
