QPR fans were slating him on here the other day, and watching the game I could hear them singing "one Joey Barton", so he must have had a decent game today.

Put in a shift like. Would say 7/10 performance. But, against the 9 men I thought he would be doing more

This. Like Ed said on the Newcastle united Blog, it's a complete farce that Neil Warnock is calling it the best result of his life or some tripe like that

You're against 9 men at home. A championship side should be able to a 1-0 lead against 9-man Barcelona at home. What is this **** you are spouting Warnock

Warnock just spouts ****e, saying the ref had a great game! It was a shocker, no way should bosingwa should of gone. I can honestly say while I find warnock amusing at times he's also ****ing annoyin because when things don't go his way he's the first to moan and point out mistakes but when he gets incredible good fortune he never ackonwledges it and says oh we were lucky etc. Basically he never takes blame but is happy to take all the credit even when he isn't due much, its always someone elses fault with warnock when things go wrong.

As for jb he's done nothing at qpr that make me feel we should of kept him, he's nowhere near in the kind of form that was knocking on englands door last year, still decent though but he's on a huge long contract and he's only going downhill.

I think they may have been expecting a bit too much of Barton. He's done ok for them and had a couple of really good games (including Chelsea). All you can expect from a new signing really. Sure he'll be an excellent signing for them because as we know only too well he is very good player in the PL. I'm not going to turn on him just cause he's left. He let us down to begin with but was in the process of paying us back in spades. We should have kept him for me but each to their own. I must admit I find the hatred on our boards towards former players who left for very good reasons a bit pathetic.

Very much agree with that last sentence. Not only the hatred, but also the fact that Barton and Enrique suddenly turned into 'average players' when thay left and that Cabaye and Santon are much better.

To be fair, I think Cabaye is better than Barton.
We still miss Enrique but hopefully Santon will slot in when he's fully match fit.

Cabaye is defo a better player, you can see why he is a regular in the France squad.

True, but based purely on footballing ability it's a close call IMO. If you throw things like discipline, baggage, age, wages and potential into the mix Cabaye wins by quite a bit! I still think Enrique is in the top 2/3 left backs in the league and is worth more than what he went for. I'd be very surprised if he reaches Enrique's level, although I have heard he's got a lot of potential, who knows.

Anyway, that wasn't really my point, I was just saying that a lot of people on here change their mind about a player as soon as they leave the toon.

Barton was supported by excellent midfielders here, he's taken a step down and has (even?) more work to do.

Santon will be a much better allround player than enrique, jose is quick and difficult to get past but he's not great at going forward and not too great position wise, still one of the best lbs in the pl and he came from nowhere aswell, santon was hailed as the future of italian football, he's still young and is pacey and imo is already better with the ball at his feet and postionally than jose.

As for barton if you give him space he can hurt you where as cabaye can not only do that he can create the space for himself, all in all I can confidently say we have replaced the players we sold with better all round players.
